I would observe that having only read the subject line and two words of the *actual* question that, whatever Paul wrote, he *was* alive when he wrote it. He was not dead, and therefore he knows exactly NOTHING that you or I don't know about an afterlife.

We are so silly. I remember reading in the bible where Jesus was asked this question about heaven: "If a woman's husband dies, and she remarries, who will be her husband in heaven, the first or second husband?" (I paraphrase) Jesus said something to the effect that in heaven there are no husbands and wifes, mothers, fathers or children. (Thank you, Jesus, for your infinite patience with us morons.)
I ask you, where is there for a soul to go? A soul isn't in a place, here and not there. In fact, we are soul now, and this body is the illusion that seems to separate us from everything else. But it is an illusion. No one is able to cast a soul anywhere. It simply cannot be done. No soul can be separated from God. It is all the same soul.
This may be observed.

The soul and spirit go to a "waiting place" something like Heaven or Hell to one day be reunited with a new body, to spend eternity in Heaven or the Lake of Fire.

a million Samuel 28:11-12 NIV states: whilst the girl observed Samuel. The episode has been understood in many distinctive techniques, between them here: a million. GOD accepted the spirit of Samuel to look to the girl. 2. the girl had touch with an evil or devilish spirit in the form of Samuel by whom she develop into deceived and controlled. 3. by utilising parapsychological powers including telepathy or clairvoyance, the girl develop into in a position to parent Saul's suggestions and photograph Samuel in her very own suggestions. however the reason of this mysterious affair, the medium develop into used in some thank you to place across to Saul that the arrival near near conflict could deliver dying, could sprint his hopes for a dynasty and could end his reign with a devestating defeat of Isreal that should go away the country on the mercy of the Philistines, the very human beings against whom he had struggled all his years as king. And this could come, as Samuel had until eventually now introduced (15:26,28), by fact of his unfaithfulness to the LORD...you're Saul! by however means, the medium without notice

You are wise to question where we will be upon death!
Many give quotations from the Bible, Koran, Talmud, and other books of religious beliefs, but besides a metaphysical answer is there an honest answer?
I found one in SETH SPEAKS. it makes sense, and it will happen, I'm certain, to you and I regardless of what church we belong too!
It will be the result of your expectations, and you won't be alone neither!
Someone will greet you! That is, if you're not really expecting what reality has in store for you!!
Read the following quotations to get the story of what is in STORE for each and every one of us!

If your spirit is meant to continue in this world, it will be in the lifes of those you've been with. Your soul was, is, and will be with God. Unless he decides otherwise.

If you fought for family, nation, and most of all: your race... then you go onto heaven. If you betrayed them, then you will rot in hell forever.
