None is required, if you are not going to ask about education, but...

It helps if you know that you are interested in helping other people.

It helps if you have been successful at some kind of art or skill that develops manual dexterity. Since performing dentistry dentistry is ALL ABOUT hand skills once you have arrived at a diagnosis, you have to have "good hands."

It helps to know how well you do under pressure, because there is a lot of that in the day of a dentist. You are making decisions for other people all day long. You are trying to perform complicated, detailed tasks in a defined amount of time without causing any pain and without taking more time that you have allotted for the task.

Many schools present a pre-dentistry monitor. Harvard calls for the next (two semesters each and every): Biology - with laboratory Inorganic or General Chemistry Organic Chemistry Physics Calculus English - ideally composition So, virtually it is identical to pre-med. I'd say if you're a chem or bio essential you would be great. So, select your college situated on standards you deem are compatible. Any school/school will present chem, bio, calc, physics, and english. Just attempt to get into the quality college you'll be able to get into. Then do just good and get ready for four years of technological know-how and math. :)

THERE IS NO ACTUAL PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED, BUT TO BECOME A DENTIST IT REQUIRES A LOT OF EDUCATION.

experience needed: the development of the ability to tolerate and withstand unhealthy people blowing bad breath into your face, day after day, week after week, year after year for the rest of your "life" if you can call that a life. You need every inoculation that exists to protect yourself from their diseases, but you cant stop the stench and the odor.
Good "luck"
