no, they don't not stunt the growth. but they can cause stress fractures in the lower leg and also cause a greater muscle imbalance between the quadriceps and the hamstrings as the load has no effect on hamstring.

No they do not.

Warning though...don't run wih them or walk with them. It is bad for the ankle and bones. Could really do damage over time.
