Yes. The island can be used as a quick snack spot for one or two people (providing there is counter overhand to tuck away knees) and also be a serving space for buffet style dining. The table is for regular dining and especially a place to sit and chat with guests while munching something you've whipped up in your beautiful new kitchen.
