I have a 2001 philips tv/vcr combo model CCC090AT01 and it comes on but it shuts off in about 10 or 15 seconds, whats wrong with it?

You need to take it to a shop. The problem is not with the record timer or set-up. Sounds like a problem with the vcr mechanism. A jammed loading carriage or broken sensor in the vcr will cause the tv to turn off. I have repaired similar units with the same problem.

Besides checking the timer as Christina S suggests, there may be something that is overheating and causing the thermal circuit breaker to trip. As she said, it may need a trip to the local TV shop.

My advice. Dont even try to open it and spot the problem. Changes are you wont be able to. Just take it in and let them look at it because if they can tell that you opened or tried to fix it somehow they may not fix it.

Have you checked your timer. and if that's not it it may have a short in it. may reqiure internal surgery.
