what works best is either placing your service on a tall commercial building or on a nearby hillside. There are better options for getting internet in residential areas. I use a small satellite dish.

You have to get the license from department of wireless telegraphy,central government,New delhi(if you are from INDIA)Whereever you are you have to get clearance for the electronic equipment and registered.The government officials will come & inspect at anytime for checking
