U98 has the best answer, hands down! I'm still laughing!!!!
But the serious answer is that it depends on what was in the guy's heart at the time. Did he jump on the grenade because he knew he'd be considered a hero or to save the lives of others?

...holey... LOL!!!!

No - Since there is no evidence of a heaven, or any other afterlife.
Other christians will say that he went to heaven, but they say that about most people when they die.
Assuming that their was a heaven then maybe, depending on many other factor of the mans life that were not stated, and the reasons for his action.

a guy or woman does not bypass to Hell because of the fact of their sins. They bypass to Hell because of the fact of unbelief in Jesus Christ. some are of the have faith that suicide is an unpardonable sin, because of the fact there's no way attainable to reconcile that sin after death. this would be a fantasy, and unscriptural. while a guy or woman comprises Jesus Christ as a responsible sinner, below the condemnation of God (Romans 3:10,19), and places their faith entirely in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of those sins (Galatians 3:26)--then ALL sins are forgiven continuously, including destiny sins (Romans 8:a million; Psalm 103:12). The Catholic coaching of mortal sins verses venial sins is unbiblical. All sin is mortal (James 2:10). while a guy believes on Jesus Christ, then he obtains HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, i.e., Jesus' righteousness (2d Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:3,4). At salvation, Christ's righteousness is imputed to us, and we are declared "justified" in God's eyes (in simple terms-IF-id by no ability sinned). As to the adult males which you suggested, we don't understand in the event that they went to Heaven or Hell. it actual relies upon on each and each persons status with God, in the event that they have been born back in Christ Jesus, no they did no longer bypass to Hell.

giving up your own life for a noble purpose is not suicide, martyrs for example are people who chose to die rather than deny their faith, and martyrs are honored and venerated in the Church as heroes
