i don`t think that`s necessarily true, because many times after tanning i must shower right away for work, an appointment, etc...& it`s never affected the quality of my color...however, if u use a product with a bronzer in it, u should probably wait several hours, so it has time to absorb into the skin properly...

tanning changes the pigment inside your skin, showering has no effect on that. If you're talking fake tan, then yes, a shower would probably wash it off if done too soon. I don't know HOW soon. Why would I want a fake tan? To look like a spokesperson for Sunkist oranges?

You should wait at least an hour for most products. If you are using your own product; read the label. The instructions are there. Some products recommend a two hour minimum before showering. Hope this helps! Nana

Im sure this only applies to fake tans. Once you have tanned in the sun or by a tanning bed the tan lasts as long as your natural skin exfoliation cycle.

If you are talking about a spray-on tan, you should wait for three or more hours, but if you are talking about an ultravoilet ray tan (tanning bed or in the sun), then you don't have to wait at all. The effects of the sun don't wash off, that's stupid.

I give it 8 hours before I shower. OR OR OR I exfoliate and shower BEFORE putting self-tanner. =)
