My Family and I are about to Migrate to Canada(Alberta) and we have a choice between Calgary and Edmonton.Can you shed some light on these two places...the good and bad in both, availability of jobs, etc?

I lived in both cities for a number of years and they were both great. Calgary is a little more fast-paced than Edmonton is, but Edmonton has a kind of folk-y feel to it. Both cities are really expensive to buy houses in right now and there are lots of job opportunities in both as well. Calgary is closer to the Rockies, if you like hiking and that sort of thing, but Edmonton has many awesome festivals in the summer if that's what you're into. I found Edmonton easier to drive around in (after I got to know it). There is a better university in Edmonton (University of Alberta), if that would have any impact on your decision. And while Edmonton is really very beautiful in the summer, it is FREEZING and DARK in the winter - Calgary is much more tolerable in those winter months. Each city has its own little perks - I don't think you could really go wrong picking either of them. Good luck to you!

Both are great places to live

I am not an expert but I think you will have better luck in Edmonton for jobs but..
OMG Calgary is such a neat place to go or live.
There are quite alot of places like Edmonton but Calgary is unique.
If I was you I would pick Calgary just to have a more interesting life!
