the Bible is not meant to 'compute' with anything. It is not a textbook or a dictionary. I agree that people who say it is to be taken literally in every case have a difficulty, but their difficulty starts with their misreading of the Bible.
Both Jews and Catholics understand that the Bible was written by people, in a community, for a community, and the same God who inspired the writers, inspires the community to understand it.
Those who do not understand this have no rationale for deciding when to interpret the Bible 'literally' and when by 'analogy'; Catholics have a rationale in that they accept an authoritative interpretive body.

Some examples would strengthen your argument. Blanket statements with no examples make your own reasoning appear weak and give no weight for the reader to believe your logic is not equally flawed.
