Why does God care about our conduct so much?

I mean, if I lie too many times, he's going to put me in a lake of fire for all eternity! That's a little extreme.... don't ya think?

This guy needs anger management therapy!

Why is God like this?

No matter what our shortcoming is (or sin), God is willing to forgive us. This requires two steps: repenting, which is acknowleding that what you've done was not right. And conversion, which is turning away from what you've done and trying your best not to do it again. It may happen again, because we're imperfect. But we always have to try our best.

He's not, actually. People made Him like this. "Hell" is a concept that Milton brought into full depiction in Paradise Lost. The anger and vengeance are tools used to fear people into behaving properly. It's actually a very effective technique.

he's not, these are scare tactics for political and religious control. Jesus is actually a VERY forgiving dude and he was the voice of god. the church is you, not a building. People read way to literary into the bible, when all it is, is a group of good and moral representations that you follow to be a good person.

Because he is the "God" of "Judaism" and not the God of heaven. When mankind quits deluding itself by the belief it is the creation of the perfect god in heaven and ACCEPTS it is a "flawed" creation of the devil, it will begin to realize WHY god in heaven offers his GRACE and offers us an alternative to HELL............Religions of the PRESENT contradict themselves so badly, I am surprised they have such a following, but it goes to prove how GULLABLE people are. The "God" you see in your judgement, IS the DEVIL who has SLIPPED himself in to represent himself as GOD ALMIGHTY and is his GREATEST "achievement." As one who USED TO BE a satanist, it is why JESUS said, "that which you see 'isn't' and that which you 'don't' exists." Meaning, reality to this species is DELUSION, while delusion is looked upon as REALITY, and you are right, the devil does need anger management and only the FOOLS can look upon these religions SEE the truth of his nature YET praise him BELIEVING him to be the holy one in heaven.............

In my opinion your mom would be much more upset with you than God.
The idea that God punishes us was started to control people; that is a historical fact. God could never punish us as much as we punish ourselves.

How we act says a lot more about us than what we say, talk is cheap, if we conduct ourselves with honor, are we not honorable?
I don't personally believe so strictly, after all, He also said that all you need to do is accept Him as saviour and not denounce Him, so a serial killer, if he really means it, can repent for his sincs and be accepted into Heaven.
