Who says that MAN has all the answers?...
I believe that before our birth we are in Heaven as Spirit children of God.. we come to this world to receive the gift of a Physical body.. and our memory of that time is removed until we return to Heaven... or perhaps the Holy Ghost can let us remember parts of it if we need to for our salvation.

First of all you have to define or identify what you mean by or refer to as 'You' .Does it refer to your body with a life force in it.? In that case it was brought by conception and birth in the physical sense. Religious thinkers go beyond this level of reasoning. The religions in India in particular say that we are only souls and we take different bodies. Souls continue their birth and rebirth and only after cleansing all the bad deeds they merge with what may be named as Cosmic /Universal consciousness or the God. In short you were the soul of somebody, somewhere before your birth. Scientifically this may not be acceptable now but once the nature of consciousness or what is the life force as such is found out we may have a complete answer.

Because I believe in reincarnation and the survival of consciousness I believe my consciousness existed as part of the cosmic consciousness prior to my birth just as it will again after I die. That is a subjective viewpoint- the logical and objective viewpoint based on the available evidence is that I didn't exist prior to my birth because my self is a product of my experiences in life.

In the beginning we were all with our Father in Heaven as his spirit children. He had a plan for us to come to earth with a mortal body to be tried and tested and then return to a kingdom compaired with the sun, moon, or stars, depending on how valient you were.
Two people volunteered to carry out the plan; Christ and Satan (a star of the morning) Satan's plan was to force obediance, no free agency and all would return and he would take the glory. Christ's plan was to give free agency.give the laws to follow, and pay for repented sins, otherwise each person would have to suffer for their own sins. He would give god the glory. Christ was chosen and satan rebelled along with a third of the hosts of heaven. They were sent down to earth to try and test the other two thirds as they came down in their turn. All will return eventually but it will be christ's first and then those chose to follow satan and do their own suffering, last. Every knee shall bow and every tounge confess that Jesus is the christ. All will receive a kingdom according to how obedient they were.

You were a sperm and egg before your conception, a fetus before your birth. (Do they not teach this stuff any longer in the 8th grade?)
