Legally at the age 18, you can be your own guardian! But, any real Guardian/parent knows it doesn't end at 18. You're there for the person the rest of your life! That's what being a Guardian/parent is all about! A parent/guardian does have the right though to not be the legal guardian of a person of the age 18 and over if they so chose to be!

Your statements are vague. I read your other questions, and still can't figure out what your asking, or trying to imply. You are either the parent, or you have legal guardianship. 18 may be the legal age in your area. What is your specific question?.

I think someone is confusing guardianship with legal obligations.

Well, I am also 19 and my parents don't. I am still close to them and they are supportive of me and I will take their opinions about my actions into serious consideration but I am not legally obligated to follow them.

I still consider them my "gaurdians" in the sense that they will always be my parents and always people who will stick up for me and that I will trust, but they aren't my "legal gaurdians" in the eyes of the law.

If you have an adult child living with you, you are responsible for their actions til the age of 25. If they have an accident while driving an uninsured motor vehicle that does property damage you are liable to pay for that damage.
