Can anyone give me some info on the process of becoming an Officer in the Navy. I am not ready to meet with a recruiter just yet. I finish my bachelors degree this fall. It will be a Bachelors degree in Libral Arts with a major in the Management of Criminal Justice Operations. What types of positions do you think I may qualify for?
I would love to hear about the process just so I know what I am getting into. How long of a process is this also.
I have 4 years prior service in the Marine Corps, so Boot isn't an issue. I appreciate you sharing your experiences and advice.

Since you're almost done with your degree, yo'll need to apply to OCS, if accepted to OCS , you'll have 13 weeks of training. After you complete training, you'll be commissioned as an Ensign. Howevr, since your already 34 you'll have to hurry and apply to OCS, because to get accepted you have to be under 35. Because once you turn 35 you probaby won't be able to get an age waiver.

The degree doesn't matter much unless you are trying to get a specialized position, although Criminal Justice degrees are like Business Admin degrees; pretty worthless in the real world. I went to Navy OCS at 35 after completing my degree. With your prior enlisted experience, Navy OCS will be a breeze. You would most likely be a "Line Officer", the ones who do most unspecified work and are the ship drivers.

But don't wait to talk to an officer recruiter, otherwise you might be too old, I only made it by about 3 months.

This recruiter ought to be fired and sent to the galley on a bad little re-fueler. stay in college. consult with a Naval Officer Recruiter, no longer an Enlisted Recruiter. The military has its very own favored course for Naval officers and going enlisted first isn't the 1st or superb thank you to do it. in case you rather need to do it right, you need to make certain in the journey that your college has a Naval ROTC unit. it truly is super prep for the authentic deal. If no longer you could continuously attempt the OCS application (submit to in suggestions Officer and a Gentleman?). Its for all the non-academy human beings. are not getting suckered into enlisting in case you desire to be an officer. stay in college. Get your degree. it rather is a call for to getting a value. do no longer count quantity out the Marines, the two. They fly jets off vendors, too. distinctive project and instruction in the stepped forward ranges yet early a superb form of similarities. the two could pose a tough undertaking. solid luck. The Gold Wings of a Naval Aviator is honestly a objective truly worth taking pictures for.

You may be too old to become a Naval Officer. You need to talk to a recruiter. The Navy has cut a bunch of Jr officers in the recent years. You want to make sure the Navy Officer School will even accept your degree. I know AF OTS wont talk to anyone one without a technical, like computers, degree.
