Recently I heard a message about the signs that we are in the end times (e.g. natural disasters, wars etc). With all the conflicts at the moment, the rise of Islamic extremists and the mounting hostility towards Christianity - perhaps Satan knows his days are numbered and is working overtime to keep all he can from being saved before being thrown in the lake of fire with his demons. Are we as Christians in Western society being too complacent? Are we ready for Christ's return? We will have the victory - but we must make more of an impact to ensure more of the lost will share in this victory with us!
I am interested - do you think we will witness the return of Christ this century?

Yes, we are in the end times... only if we can call it that! End times simply do not mean the end of Mother Earth... or the complete annihilation of humanity on planet Earth. End times are indicative of a really bad patch of life as we shall face it in the near future. In the end times it is expected that 1200 million people shall vanish. It shall be a fight to the finish between Christianity and Islam... a full-scale nuclear war... the world war 3!

As has also been predicted by Nostradamus... the said world war three was expected to happen around 1998. Thereafter it was expected around 2003. Now the end of the world... the world war three is expected in 2012 (the year of Bhagwan Kalki).

Islamic terrorism world over is direct result of faulty practices of USA under the banner of Cold War. In the name of providing aid to developing countries, USA has milked them dry. The ground reality is absolutely clear to citizens of most countries. None can betray their trust now. For long their trust has been taken for a ride... now the might shall face the meek. As destined by God... the meek shall rule the end.

USA has practically acted as a Satan. Afghanistan and now Iraq lay in ruins... all a doing of USA and its allies (most of which are not prone to reason... they blindly follow the master). None is supposed to interfere in the affairs of others. The world would have appreciated if Taliban had been controlled permanently... no, it is still very active! Terrorists do not form by birth... it is the torment suffered at the hands of those in power that makes them terrorists. Can we ever point towards a child and say, one would become a terrorist when he grows up!

Christianity world over has not acted wisely... they have always tried to impose themselves on the weaker. Now it is the time for the David to react. Goliath will be slain in the act. In the coming world war three almost 20% population of USA would be wiped clean. Who shall be responsible for this act... the people of USA themselves? It is them who have elected a faulty leader. The coming end times would prove everything. In the system of God it is good that wins the end.

To remain under an illusion that no harm shall come to USA... is a misnomer! What we have preached and acted upon... the same will boomerang on us. The doctrine of mass karma confirms this. As we sow so shall we get... nothing less or more! USA tried destabilizing USSR... it succeeded but in the melee it created a Frankenstein for itself in the form of Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups’ world over. To escape the wrath of these terrorists would be difficult.

The melting snow caps, the rise in sea waters by 10 to 12 feet, natural disasters of unbelievable magnitude would all be the result of rise in global temperatures due to world war three. Everyone... every single individual living on Mother Earth shall face the fury of world war three. This nuclear war would be remembered in the history of mankind for ever. Albert Einstein had rightly predicted that the fourth world war would be fought with sticks and stones. More on end times - http://www.vijaykumar.org/end_time_prophecies.html

The early Christians believed that the "End Times" were coming in the same generation, i.e., in what we would call the 1st century AD. Similar sentiments arose during the reign of Justinian, c. 531 AD, at the approach of the year 1000; at 1260 AD owing to the Book of Revelation; in 1666, especially with the Great Plague and London fire; in the 1830s-1840s with Mormons, Millerites, and Adventists; concerning 1999; and doubtless will break out again when the year appoaches 2300 (Book of Daniel). Interestingly, Muslims have something similar in outbreaks of "millennialism" in their own history. This is the kind of thinking that undermined the Roman Empire in its real "last days" when Christians had been ruling it for 150 years. People were more focused on the heavenly life beyond--- that the material existence of society didn't matter. It was "the end times", so who cares whether the institutions of civilization fall to pieces? Right? Who cares about global warming, etc., if God's going to dissolve it all soon anyway?
My friend, this is very dangerous thinking, of the same kind that has brought much ruin and suffering to good people --- faithful people --- in the past. Keep your faith in your heart and your eye on heaven as you believe it, but please, while you live and breathe in this world, the life and civilization around you DOES matter very much. Continue to live by your highest and ethical values, whether you call them Christian, Jewish, or Muslim, or just ethics ... and if Jesus comes, he'll surely not find great fault with you! But if the "Millennium" does not come in this decade, century, or next 10,000 years, you still will have lived well and done well by your fellow human beings, and most probably also well by the faith you profess. In other words, let's not make the "End Times" a self-fulfilling prophecy!

SATAN KNOWS MICHAEL IS IN CHARGE

Michael of Jude 9; in Daniel 12:1-13; end times, whith holy angels at Rev.12:1-12; cast Satan and 1/3 unholy angel out of heaven. 2520 years after Babylon world Empire #3 ended kings, the cast down of Satan ends world Empire #7, SATAN HAS A SHORT TIME IN THE END TIME and this is about 150 years Matt.24: 3, 7, 14, 15, 22, 34, 36 - 38, 44 - 47; This does not give the day or the hour that only God knows. Matt.25:31-34 [ Angels do their job ];
Mark 13:27; John 6:39,40,44; 14:3; 1Thes.4:15-17; AFTER SATAN IS DOWN.
6130 years after Eden does not give the day or the hour that only God knows, 2670 years after Babylon world Empire #3 that ended kings does not give the day and hour that only God know, but from then THERE WILL BE NO KING UNTIL JESUS AT HIS SECOND COMING.
Rev.12:1-12; Satan cast down and 150 years to Rev.20:1-6,12,13; No Satan for 1000 years, this does not give the day and hour that only God knows.

We in the US are somewhat complacent. End-time prophecy fulfillment is the clock with which we measure the count down. Something striking I see today is we are like they were at the time of Jesus. All the prophecy and they still missed it. So the scripture that states "as in the times of Noah" is so relevant for today.

We must be pure and true to Gods word to be a good witness. This Yahoo Q&A is only for fun but who knows, maybe something will trickle through every now and then.

Definitely.

I heard something interesting last Saturday. I went to a Messianic Shabbat service. They said one of the signs they were still waiting for was the return of the tribe of Judah to Israel from the West. They said prophesy from the other 3 corners of the earth has already been fulfilled:

Isa 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Yes we will witness it...if we are alive. The reality is that 66% to 75% of the earth population is going to die before the Lord will physically be back on earth. And yes we in Western society are the Laodicean church described in Revelation and will be going through the tribulation but its for own good its the fire thats gonna purify us.

No, I don't believe that Christ will return this century. But I believe he will come very soon. You are right about wars and natural disasters and such and that more people are turning away from God. But it doesn't matter what you, I, nor anyone thinks because nobody can predict Christ's return. Except God, because he set the timer.

The earth is not ready to fold up and give up the ghost. It is ready to have some changes. The end times message is about changing the world AS WE KNOW IT! For so long, materialism has swayed the day. It is time to change into a more spiritual approach...it is happening and will continue to evolve the world.

We will not witness the return of Christ this century. And how can we tell that the leaders we have faith in are not working with satan?

This is the hard part

I do. My personal belief is that the time of tribulation will begin within 20 years..."possibly" a little later but not much.

Even the secular scientists have moved the hand of the clock closer to midnight.
