Would you rather?

Pay off a few bills, buy a trampoline and a 4 wheeler **OR** go to San Diego Zoo, Sea World and The Wild Animal Park.... For you summer vacation?

I am assuming that these three options are the ones your family has decided upon. While I am usually a very practical person, I also firmly believe that memories and family bonding do not occur from paying bills.

Do something that will create family memories, a "connectedness" to the family, and that we bring you all closer together. You will relive the memories of SeaWorld together for many years to come. No one will relive the memories of paying off your bills. (Although eventually they will need to be paid).

So, my vote would be option two or three.
Since I don't like 4 wheelers (chew up the environment), I would pick three.

If the zoo, Sea World and the Wild Animal Park are the choices, then I'd take the money, donate the whole lot to Viva, or PETA or someone else who is campaigning to get the poor animals that are kept in those hideous places released, or at least transferred to decent homes.
Please don't support the keeping of animals in zoos and aquaria!

Pay off the bills and start saving toward the trip. That way the trip won't be marred by the knowledge that you'll have even more bills when you get back.

Don't build up debt over consumer stuff. If you stay out of debt you'll be able to spend what you would have spent on interest on trips.
