All people who died formerly Jesus replaced into sent to earth, are nonetheless "snoozing" in death and are finding forward to a resurrection, which Jesus has been given the authority to do. this might ensue after God's very final conflict of Armageddon and with the aid of the single thousand year reign while Jesus regulations as King over the earth. between those introduced back to existence right here in the international, would be Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and each and all of the dedicated ones who lived formerly Jesus replaced into born. What a excitement that's going to be to speak to them and learn from their reports. How surprised they are going to be at what contemporary technologies has accomplished. What a loving God we've. not purely will righteous human beings be resurrected, yet people who in no way knew God would be additionally settle for existence back and the possibility to tutor themselves dedicated for the period of that thousand years of only and righteous rulership. I believe that the soul is the combination of the Spirit and the Physical body...
The Physical body is buried (it is a gift from God and as such should not be dis-respected)...
The Spirit goes to the Spirit world.. which used to be a prison where Satan had them locked up and under control...
Between the time that Jesus Christ died on the cross and the time that He resurrected, He went to the Spirit world and fought with Satan, took the keys from Satan and unlocked the Spirit prison.. the then taught the people there just as He had done here on earth...
You should also remember that people believed in Jesus from the beginning.. He is whom the Bible was written to testify of Him and that He would come to Save us from sin.

John 5:28 Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will come out. Some to a resurrection to life some to a resurrection of judgement.
so that day hasn't come yet so they are waiting in God's memory. It is called in the bible judgement day.
The nashing of teeth is symbolic of a unhappy person.
Many things in the bible are not literal.

Since the fall of man, the basis of salvation has always been the death of Christ. No one, either prior to the cross or since the cross, would ever be saved without that one pivotal event in the history of the world. Christ's death paid the penalty for past sins of Old Testament saints and future sins of New Testament saints.
The requirement for salvation has always been faith. The object of one's faith for salvation has always been God. The psalmist wrote, "Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him" (Psalm 2:12). Genesis 15:6 tells us that Abraham believed God and that was enough for God to account it to him for righteousness (see also Romans 4:3-8). The Old Testament sacrificial system did not take away sin, as Hebrews 9:1-10:4 clearly teaches. It did, however, point to the day when the Son of God would shed His blood for the sinful human race.
What has changed through the ages is the content of a believer's faith. God's requirement of what must be believed is based on the amount of revelation He has given mankind up to that time. This is called progressive revelation. Adam believed the promise God gave in Genesis 3:15 that the Seed of the woman would conquer Satan. Adam believed Him, demonstrated by the name he gave Eve (v.20) and the Lord indicated His acceptance immediately by covering them with coats of skin (v.21). At that point that is all Adam knew, but he believed it.
Abraham believed God according to the promises and new revelation God gave him in Genesis 12 and 15. Prior to Moses, no Scripture was written, but mankind was responsible for what God had revealed. Throughout the Old Testament, believers came to salvation because they believed that God would someday take care of their sin problem. Today, we look back, believing that He has already taken care of our sins on Calvary (John 3:16; Hebrews 9:28).

Limbo, according to some people. After Jesus died he went to Limbo and sent the virtuous Jews to Heaven. The wicked of course, are in Hell.
According to others, when you die you are dead and buried until Judgment Day. That's when your body is brought back to life and you are either cast into the firey pit or sent to Heaven.
I'm sure there are other Christians who believe that those people just went straight to Hell. Christians of different stripes are not in agreement about this issue.

Ok, now that I got that part off my chest, I can answer you. They went to the same place we all go now after death.......back into oblivion. There is NO heaven or hell.......that is entirely a construct of the human imagination, based on what they hope for, nothing more.
The spirit energy may linger, but any "soul" that might exist simply leaves and dissipates upon death. Spirit energy, NOT SOULS, account for virtually all "hauntings", and is similar to a recording of music on a CD.......it attaches itself to the area or occurance that it's most associated with (this is called place memory). It is only capable of playing over and over, and any semblance of interaction with humans is ONLY in our minds, nothing more.

People do not have SEPARATE 'souls'. something that flits off after death. When gos created Adam and Eve, He created them AS ' souls', living breathing.
He did the same with animals.
(Genesis 1:20) And God went on to say: “Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens.”
If souls were separate,, you would have to ask...what happens to animals souls when they die?
And look at the translation. The Hebrew word translated 'soul' is NEPHESH, which means ' that which breathes'.
A 'soul' is the complete living breathing person.
