In the history of mankind there have been many gods, Norsemen worshiped Norse gods like Odin and Thor, Egypt worshiped Gods like Ra and Amen, or Greek gods like Zeus and Hera, the spirits of the Indians-and hundreds of others I don't know about.

I always see people saying if your not Christian you will go to hell, or if your not Catholic you'll go to hell *these are the only religions I hear say this* But what about before people knew about him? Why would *THE* god cast the souls of hundreds of thousands into hell if they didn't even think that *one* existed? Ya know the Norse believed that Hell was frozen (called Niflheim) They were, after all only trying to make sense of the world around them and created their gods, as we created our own.

So this I ask you, who thinks that all the people before the single god was known were cast down into hell, and do you think its justified? I am not particularly religious, but I believe in every single god-that people adopt them to represent the qualities they inspire to emulate

My ancestors didn't get kicked out of a garden for listening to a talking snake (original sin), nor did they enter into a covenant with Yahweh after escaping slavery in Egypt (10 Commandments). Since these are the most common reasons given for people's need for salvation from hell, I personally think it unlikely many pre-Christian people ended up going there after all; if for some unguessable reason it happened anyways, I sure wouldn't think it's fair. It'd be like the Chinese government trying to punish American citizens for something they were doing legally in America that happened to be illegal in China.

Having said that, there are stories in Christian mythology that address your concern pretty readily. During the Middle Ages (and for quite a while afterwards) it was fashionable to believe in a sort of Limbo, or Hell of the Virtuous Pagans, where people who didn't get to learn of Jesus but lived otherwise upright lives went after death. Aside from not being Heaven, it wasn't a particularly terrible place; there wasn't any of that lake of fire or eternal torment going on there. In Dante's Inferno (which was held to be divinely inspired for many years), it's one of the first places visited. According to Dante and people with similar beliefs, during the period between Jesus's death and resurrection, the Harrowing of Hell occurred. During the Harrowing, Jesus descended into Hell and shook things up; while he was there, he gave the virtuous pagans a chance to follow him out of Hell. There were a lot of poems written about the Harrowing in the Middle Ages; apparently, the people then thought it wasn't justified to throw people into eternal torment when they hadn't had a chance.

guy has created those form of fake Gods. Now they at the instant are not springing up fake Gods lots as fake religions. on the instant, it truly is being executed as an occupation or a tax wreck. Bands are being extra in etc to make a spectacle of worship provider. human beings swap church homes by the day by fact they do no longer purely like the music or the pastor. that's all approximately entertainment, no longer the truch. we are warned of that's the final days.

if people worshiped 100 gods ,that does not mean that these worshiped gods are true gods.
it is an entire extinct within humans to search always for an almighty power to worship.
some ancient people found the fire very powerful so they prayed to fire, others prayed to rivers, stones, sun, and some people noticed after long beholding and thought ,that all these things change and there is a creator behind this world.
Abraham believed in one god though he lived among people who worshiped stones, also Noah...
god had always sent messengers to humans to tell them to worship one god.even before Jesus and moses ..the general message of all prophets are the same from Adam to Mohamed(worship one god without companions)..and who has never received the message would not be punished.

There is only ONE " Almighty God".
And He is aware that people have invented other 'gods' for themselves. Gods that comply with what people want.
The true God wants people to comply with Him.
And you have a false concept of hell. It is only man's grave, and will be eliminated along with death at Armageddon.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

(Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.

Hades=Hell.
