Keep in contact with her, obviously. If she lives overseas, try having twice-a-week phone calls or more if possible. Write letters.
Also, make sure you meet new friends and people so that you're still happy at home. And look forward to her return!

sending a card in the mail to her, to surprise her , letting her know you're thinking of her...no special occasion, just because you wanted to*
calling her, talking on msn/yahoo/aol mssger with her..
taking a couple of pics of yourself and mailing to her...hopefully you both can keep the spark alive for another year*
If you can...perhaps save to visit her if you can in the summer ..not sure how far "away" she is.
