I would say a choice few go out of their way to offend and a select few get offended way too easily. I think the majority of us are middle of the road, but we all have our moments. ;o)

I don't think the first one is true. As far as the second, I think some (not many) Christians like to play the "I'm being persecuted" game. I am not offended if someone makes a comment about Hinduism but as a devout Hindu I feel I have the right to defend it.

I'd say #2 is closer to the truth. Personally, I really don't take this seriously enough to be offended by anything I see, especially since I don't actually know any of these people.

I'm agnostic and my mother is a deeply religious woman. While I take care to respect her beliefs, and not use God's name in vain, she feels free to tell me on a regular basis that I am evil and will go to hell, unless I repent. I'm offended, Christians don't have the market cornered on that. Why do they need to defend their beliefs anyway?? Call me old fashioned, but I thought one's religious beliefs were private and not a matter for public discussion.
