To me it seems that without Roman Emperor Constantin there would be no fricking christian-mess-insanity.
He sponsored the Christians to use them and manipulate them to stay in power. Like a CEO of ancient times he ordered the chaotic christians to clean up their act, tidy up their fairy tales choose 4 "gospels" out of a dozen or so so that he could use the christian 'party' to stay in power and defeat his enemies. Just plain old fashioned politics.
Without Constantin's sponsorship endorsement there would be no Christian-insanity.

How do you people know if Constantine was not just an incarnation of the Devil? You could be worshipping the fruits of the Devil.

I am a devout practicing Roman Catholic. Catholics were the first Christians as evidenced by the Apostle Peter being our first Pope.
We follow Jesus Christ not Constantine.

Congratulations, you incorrectly spelled Constantine, and yes Constantine did many things for Christianity he wanted to make a uniform faith, so he did straighten up our version of the Bible. Why would he do this though, the Romans had always persecuted and hated Christians the reason is because in a key battle in the war to become emperor, he saw a cross in the sky that said "In this sign conquer" i find this likely because there is no political reason to sponsor a minority religion, that has been extremely persecuted, without some sort of divine inspiration

He also started a lot of the traditions that we now know as Christianity. The Christianity that is practiced now is not what was originally practiced back in Paul's time.
I think it would have been a much smaller sect. There have been religions that have survived through the centuries despite massive persecution. But a lot of our history would have been changed for better or worse if Constantine had not had his dream.

Yeah that's it, that's how all this Christian type stuff got started. Let me guess you are like some scholar from ivy league school as well and you and your smart friends sat around one night and figured this whole thing out over a nice bottle of wine. Or you are just another opinionated anti-christian riding the coat tails of another scholar. Well which is it Einstien?

You have been researching the roots of Christianity.
Good for you. Don't expect any of the believers to bother.
They only understand what supports the mythology they have been told to believe.
Anything that does not support the mythology of the thought system is seen as an attack on it.
Love and blessings Don

The Romans were famous for their persecution of Christians - just because they used Christians for political gain doesn't negate the legitimacy of Christianity.
