A universal religion is a prophecy given in the Bible that would happen. Yes, Satan is at the root of this and yes, many will be deceived and go along with this thinking it is good. The anti-christ will head this and he will even claim himself to be God halfway through (3 1/2 years) into the 7 year tribulation. It will happen exactly as the Bible says it will. If you need anymore information, please feel free to email me, it is not offensive to me for you to inquire about this and try to understand this.
To pray for world peace is not in itself satanic though. World peace will come for real after the tribulation when Jesus comes at the second coming and rules on earth as king. So in that aspect, how in the world would that be satanic?
This is a two answer really. Those who do not understand biblical prophecy need to dig deeper before they condemn someone for asking a question. :)

There is belief in God.
There is faith in God.
There are different religions that have one or more gods.
belief
We may believe there is a god - something that is a non random force in the universe or universal being or some such.
faith
simple explanation - not only that a god exists but reliance and trust of god in all things.
one or more gods
Most denominations of Christianity believe in a similar mannr to a the Hindi: a multi or three aspect/headed god.
Jehovah Witnesses and other non trinitarians are mono-theistic in that there is one God, the most high, God of gods, Lord of lords. All are subject unto Him including Christ and the Holy Spirit.
A unversal belief system would be a blending of different (non biblical) concepts into christendom.
There are others on this board that may go into detail about the crying of "peace peace" as a signal or sign of the end of this system of things.

No, desiring world peace is not Satanic. Satan hasn't inspired a universal belief in God. What he has inspired is a world-wide need for religion. Next to governments and his close connection to the leaders thereof, religion is the number one media through which he subverts and corrupts mankinds ability to comprehend and accept God's Word. It's all about mixed-messages and the ease with which mankind's nature can be manipulated. Satan is the Great Imitator of God. How else can it be explained that so much of the world finds him somehow to be a desirable alternative to God? Let me ask you a question. If you had some incurable dis-ease and Satan thought you might be of use to him in the furtherance of his objectives, do think for a moment that he personally wouldn't draw that sickness out of you? The larger question now is, would you let him?

Hello Pangle I hope your husband is well.
The answer is that ultimately everything will be reconciled under Christ. We are supposed to be looking after the planet that's our job. This universal religion may be the one talked about in revelation where the man of sin Posing as a goody after 3 and half years is a baddy and all the promises he makes to heal and restore become a blood bath. The bible warns about people being taken in by this new world order.
This doesn't mean that we don't work for peace, but as a Christian fundi I know that ultimately Jesus Christ will bring Restoration to the earth and peoples when they look to him. There are sects that think we can bring in the kingdom of God our selves but I don't agree. Christians are here to serve God and be highly creative passing on what he has given us.
Everything you want to know is in revelation and Daniel. Ultimately anyone who is a Christian knows Jesus is the son part of the God head and is in him, because that's where salvation resides. Anywhere else is outside of salvation because we haven't got the ability to do it our selves. No one is better (important point)
Theophil always gives a good answer to these Biblical questions by the way.

It is a worthy goal, but most Christians know that the closest this world will come to world peace, prior to the return of Christ, will be under the control of the Antichrist when the deceiver will cause everyone to believe that the Antichrist is the messiah.
However, even with that kind of peace, those who do not fall in line will be killed. It is absolute obedience to the Antichrist or death.
When Christ returns and sets up his kingdom on this earth, every tongue will confess that He is Lord, and there will be peace. True peace, for one thousand years, then Satan will be loosed for a season and in that season, he will encourage nations to rise up against Christ. Satan and those armies will be cast into that lake of fire that everyone so hates to hear about.

no Pangel i haven't heard this before god wishes for peace whether he be the Jewish god, Jesus, Allah and great leaders like Budd ah. I am a lapsed Christian but have read the bible on a regular basis because i still find it inspirational. The message from all these teachings is love and peace. Of course there do seem to be contradictions in the Bible and the Koran but this is down to man not god

God help us. If this is a fact of life for so many people it is no wonder this world is a mess. Imagine thinking that world Peace is a sign of Satan. What a Satanic idea!! Peace, as Jesus said, "I leave you." I don't believe He said it was Satan's peace, but His Peace. He said, "Love thine enemies." How can you Love your enemy if you think they are the spore of Satan. If Satan is your enemy Let God take care of him. You have no power over him. He is much stronger than you, if you believe he exists. Read your Bible. Understand your Bible. Love each other as He has Loved you. Spread Love not hatred. Pray for Peace, not destruction. Love your brothers and sisters. Jesus would be ashamed of All His followers if He heard what you were saying in His Name.
Sorry for the outburst, it upsets me greatly to hear His message of Peace and Love being so destroyed. And this is from a non-Christian, "non-religionist" so forgive me, please, if I upset anyone with my diatribe.

although the Bible does teach that, there will be Wars and rumors of Wars until the return of Jesus.
as a long time Christian, all of the Churches that i have attended, have prayed for world peace, of course it might just be me, because if a Church is judgemental, then I either try to change it, or move on, and yes I have changed some of the teachings in different churches. because I have pointed out that the bible does teach Love and peace, and we are all commanded to live by this teaching.
P.S. but even though we do pray for world peace, we are not able to change other peoples personalities, wants and desires.
but we can influence those around us.

No, world peace is not against Christianity nor or Christians against it. But we know from the Bible that it will not be. This does not mean we shouldn't work towards it. But we are not to make world peace more important then following Christ. In other words...if we had to deny Christ in order to obtain world peace...that would not be something a Christian could do...or should do.
But our faith tells us to "love our neighbor" if everyone {the neighbor too) were to take this approach...then we would have world peace.

I agree with channiek. Jesus didn't come on this earth to bring world peace, he came to bring peace to people's hearts (individually). I see what you mean about wanting world peace but it will never happen honey cos most people (unfortunately even some christians) choose evil rather than good. Wanting world peace is not Satanic - just wishful thinking.
