"All" is not correct.
But think of a society which for centuries has forbade marriage of priests. What percentage of normal healthy heterosexual men would be drawn into that life? The percentages toward homosexuals and individuals with sexually abnormal tastes will naturally rise in such a situation.
Regarding evangelicals and tele-vangelists. They are mostly sociopaths with a savior complex anyway. I'm not talking about your run of the mill neighborhood paster with a wife, 3 kids, a mortgage and pets. You won't see many of those in the headlines. It's the freaks who want power and your money for themselves that tip the averages.
As a matter of curiosity, as I was writing this, I realized that I have NEVER heard of one greek orthodox priest (who are almost always married with a family) getting busted for being a predator or a pervert. Have you? With the thousands of Eastern Orthodox parishes in the United States, you'ld think that if it wasn't the fact that marriage is required for normalcy, then the press would be filled with stories of those priests as well.
By the way, it isn't just the catholic church that was a haven for devients and homosexuals for centuries... The military for thousands of years was a haven for men who loved being with other men and loved to be violent. War is not a normal state mankind, but a practice developed by deviants for personal power and adopted by governments to continue in the same way. Not all governments like and go to war... only the deviants and perverts wage war (like the current president of the U.S.)

I resent the use of the word "all" in your statement.
Beyond that...the fact that "some" priests and evangelicals turn out to be sinners should not come as a surprise at all. The fact that these people are human beings should be obvious.
Priests, evangelicals...in fact all Christians sin, as do non-Christians. They are no different then the coach, teacher, married person, mother, father...etc. etc. that does the same.
These people are in need of prayer not condemnation. God will deal with them...there is no doubt.

That's what happens when human beings repress their HUMAN desires. It's funny how when normal humans suffer from repression it is suggested that they seek therapy, but when "holy men" repress it's considered a testament to their faith. I think it's crazy either way. humans trying to be like gods by devoting their lives without enjoying the gifts that were given to us.
Sexual desire is within human nature. What god would take joy in depriving it's children of the sensations that were given to us to enjoy? Especially KNOWING that most human beings are not strong enough to go against their nature!?
Edit:
It's funny how everyone says things like "it's not fair that you use the word ALL"..... Who cares? There is no way to know how long this whole ordeal has been going on. The church covers it up to avoid controversy..... For all we know, EVERY priest in the world could be enjoying the same perversities as the ones who have been publicised. They have to maintain the image that priests are godly men who do not succumb to human desires, but as i said... we are all human & we have desires. I wouldn't be surprised if behind closed doors the church deemed it permissable to allow priests to have sexual affairs so long as they were discreet.

if by all you mean less than .5% then well it is mainly because not everyone joins the religious for the right reasons (in the case of Catholic priests) and evangelicals are just crazy

Because Satan makes tempting offers to weak minded people. Anyone with a firm value system and a strong mind knows better.
What is the cliche, every man has his price.
Why do so many lawyers who have the potential to make millions in their law careers legally become underpaid politicians by choice and then grab a suit case full of money when it's put in front of them.
You chose to be a congressman instead of working at Latham and Watkins and getting Verizon as your client in Verizon vs Vonayge (what a nice billing fee that one makes). Then you moan about $150k a year in salary and keeping two house holds and putting your kid through Harvard so you take the money and run.
Free will.
It's all your choice.
Choose wisely!

It is interesting isn't it?
There is with out a doubt a direct correlation between those with the most homophobic rhetoric, and these revelations.
It seems to be about externalizing self hatred and projecting it outward on the world around us.

The problem with questions such as this they always tend to generalize,do you personally know all Priests and Ministers that you can make this statement? if you care to take the trouble to investigate you will find that a tiny percent of religious have commited these offences, and yes of course it should not happen at all,but we live in a very rebellious and sinful period of time.

For years, people loved to point the finger at the Catholics and the trouble with abuse there.
But now, the problem is with the Southern Baptist senior ministers who are guilty of sex abuse, and it's about time that their hypocrisy is exposed. Here is a Baptist article about their very own abuse.

Verily I say to thee, with the knowledge of a non-existent god, the proclaimers of faith will be perceived as godly, when there is no god in them.
Revelations (of Holy Rollers) 1:1
Translation: They know there is no god, and the only people they have to answer to are the people who adore them. So why not do the stuff they tell others not to do? As for Catholics, repressing your desires is rough, but there are plenty of victims that won't tell because they think no one will believe them, so why not do the stuff they tell others not to do?
