I've read that propoxyphene is structurley related to methadone so I was wondering if they had similar effects.

ok i dont know what these other people are reading but let me tell you my experience with methadone....it worked on my pain better than darvocet and gave me a buzz. there is no rushing high like hydrocodone, but it does have an extreme sedative effect. i would "nod out" with a coffee in my hand or stop in mid sentence for no reason...methadone was insanely addictive(i didnt sleep for 9 days when i went off it)

No. Darvocet acts to reduce the perception of pain by attaching to opiate receptors. It also produces psychological effects such as a feeling of well-being. The addition of acetaminophen reduces the pain directly. Darvocet is addictive because of its opiate-like properties (opiates include substances such as heroin, oxycodone, etc.). Methadone will attach to the same receptors, but unlike darvocet, it will not activate them, thereby having no effect on the perception of pain (and no intrinsic anti-pain activity). Methadone is used to reduce the withdrawal effects in opiate-dependent individuals, thereby increasing the probability of successful detoxification. But darvocet is mild compared to other opiates, and dependency can usually be broken by a carefully monitored program of dose-reduction over several weeks. As they say, "talk to your doctor".

Methadose is methadone and it is a pain killer.In the same class as darvocet.It is also used to get people off stonger drugs, but is a very effective pain medication.It is also just as addictive as darvocet.Please use care and dont take them any longer than you really need to.

i understand a woman who took methadone the whole being pregnant and her toddler become in the scientific institution for months after he become born dealing with withdrawals and now he hits and bites every person he unquestionably has developmental issues
