You can't even push it, like it's stuck i park. It'll "jump" into drive after messing with it for a while, but when it's stuck, even putting it into neutral - it won't budge. Someone said the Parking Paw is messed up. Can anyone explain what this means and how much it might be to repair?

what year and model. a parking pawl problem means internal trans repair, not cheap. but thats not the problem.
check the fluid level. it must be warm and checked in park or neutral. if low add little by little till its in the hatch marks on dipstick. this can cause similar problems.

You didn't say what year or model, but I would inspect the linkage between the shifter and the trans for looseness. The parking pawl is what locks the trans and prevents movement. Without knowing what year and model, I can't offer any more detail

pull the diagnostic codes and see exactly what the problem is.
look under the dash and youll see a 12 pin connector. Stick one end of a paper clip in 'A' (diagnostic test) and the other in 'B' (system gnd)..
if you have a late 94 youll have a 15 hole connector, stick one end of the paper clip in '5' (system gnd) and the other in '6' (diagnostic test)
Turn the key to the 'on' position.. the check engine light will flash... count the number of flashes. one flash a pause, and 3 rapid flashes is code 13.
Do this and tell us what codes you get... it will diagnose a torque convertor to slipping bands.

This is bad no matter what it is. Sounds to me like steering column has gone out; that would still be expensive. If it's not the steering then your transmission is blown. Either way it's awful. Sorry.....good luck!!!
