The beleifnet website is a great tool. If you are really interested go to different churches, see where you feel the most connection... I love Church of Religious Science, also called Science of Mind or Center for Spiritual Living, this is not Scientology and offers non denominational philosophy to embrace into your your life.. Unconditional love, non judgment, no condemnation, believing that God is all there Is..
Your relationship with God is yours, sacred, personal, individual, and hopefully very powerful..
I too am a student, love Practicing the Presence..
GOOD LUCK... Peace to you ..

The only scale or standard you need for comparison is the Bible.

If a church teaches what the Bible teaches, accept it. If they teach something the Bible does not teach, reject it!

The scriptures are useful for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction so that the man of God can be completely furnisghed for every good work! (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Notice Acts 17:11 where this standard is put to use: "Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so."

Yes there is;

http://www.beliefnet.com/

They have information there about every religion in the world. They also have a quiz you can take, called the Belief-O-Matic, which asks you several questions about what you believe, and based on your answers suggests several religions that you should investigate. Just answer honestly, and base your answers on what you actually naturally believe in your heart, not what you think you should believe. It's a great tool, not perfect, but a good place to start. Take the top ten religions and denominations, and research them. Then start visiting churches, temples, synagogs, mosques, groves, covens, ashrams, etc. You'll find the right path for you.

the best thing to do is experience for your self all religions. get that actual physical insite on all religions. once done you will turn atheist. Cause all religions say they believe in god but they don't believe in each other. so stupid. oh, and I thought there was only 1 bible?? 1 bible, 20 religions??? weird. be an atheist and have a mind of your own. be kind. mo.

Yes...kinda. it is the "belief-O-Matic" at belief.net It shows which religion & denomination is best suited for your belief system. It's a little time-consuming, but fun to test out.

If you wish to have someone else choose your religion for you, and based on a script, then there is no hope for you.

You have a brain - use it.
