This is a deep question but if you follow Laws of Logic, then everything has to have a cause until you get to the end and that is where God is. The Bible says God is Love. Sounds corny but meditate on that. It also says He is Spirit and Holy and everywhere at the same time, knows all-past, present and future, all powerful, eternal and moral. The universe is finite and thus under time constraints. God knows not time. Past, present and future are all the same for all practical purposes. This is how He can know the future. Also, some things will forever remain a mystery until that Day when we go before Him but you just have to keep the faith.

The universe exhibits evidence of the Big Bang. Did God command the Big Bang? If so, he did so using the material of his own being, since the scriptures say he was first all alone.
Perhaps it's not so much that God created the universe as that he BECAME the universe!

The pretense is that our physical universe has a beginning and will end therefore God must have a beginning and an end. However, assuming God exists I doubt God would be limited by our science and physical limitations. God is within us. Heaven is within us. It's a plane of existence that is within, not without....so, we can't understand the rules of nature over there because we base everything on our human understanding...which is probably not even close to how it is. So, back to the question....God could have always been because that plane of existence probably is not bound by our physical/natural laws of science.

this question, while good, is getting a little old.
yes, something cannot come from nothing, so, if things are to have a beginning then they had to come from something, if god well where did god come from etc. infinite regression or some mystical theory about circular time. are we all going to become hindu?
as a matter of fact, just for interest although its not to the point, the jewish texts never say god created the world from nothing. it either was there or god created it from chaos. just interesting...vale to you

Man created God, to satisfy a reason for our existence, and a fear of the unknown when we die.

That would be fine except science states emphatically that the universe had a start and has not always existed. It also states that it is slowly dying and Will someday be completely dead.

well becus everything has to be made, if there is a god he has to make everything nothing else can always just be. if there is a god he creates everything and therefore created the universe. allah has always been, nothing else can always hve been cuz it must have been created by him.
