Yes you can really easily.

Between sheets of a single workbook it is formatted like this sheet2!A1 for cell A1 in sheet2

For files just include the name of the file D:\my documents\stuff\wb.xls in the reference

Unless your files move around there is little problem

you additionally could make simultaneous revisions to quite a few sheets in the event that they're set up identically. click on the tab of the 1st sheet and then carry down the shift key and click on the final sheet which you relatively choose risk-free interior the revisions. If the sheets are actually not consecutive carry down the Ctrl key and click on the tabs of the sheets which you relatively choose. Now with the sheets chosen, even if you do to the 1st sheet would be accomplished to each and all of the chosen sheets. that's particularly genuine while you're identifying on finished rows or columns. If all your calculations use relative cellular references then there should not be any issues of calculations because of the fact the cellular references will replace because of the fact the cells are shifted.

1. copy the cell
2. go to the destination cell and right click the mouse..
instead of paste, choose paste special.
paste special will let you choose to paste either the formate, the content or the formula.....

I believe there's a way to link the files.... but not sure how ( well it'll take you some time look though all the functions. )
cheers.

Go to the cell where you want to link.

1. Type "=" excluding the quotes.
2. Now, go to the cell which has the data to link with the former cell & click on that.
3. Press Enter.

Now you have linked these two cells.
