Larson is a great name... it isn't "weird", has a strong sound to it, and it isn't any everyday common name (like John or William). I think Larson is a great name for a son.

As far as for a daughter, I've always thought that Keely (or Keiley) was a beautiful name, especially for one of Celtic heritage. Keely is the generic Celtic spelling, if you want to go traditional Scottish, the Scottish spelling is Keeley.

The problem with picking the name of a footballer, is that he may play for other clubs, possible a rival one to that which he supports. Also it's a 'fashionable' name and when the boy grows up may be ridiculed for it and who, as an adult, wants to be known as being named after a guy who played football thirty years previously. Also he runs the risk of being called 'Arson Larson' and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.Personally I like traditional names like David, John, Richard, Peter, Joseph for boys, Rebecca, Anne, Susan, Jennifer for girls. Having said that Keely's not a bad choice. Perhaps a Scottish name, Keith, James or even Carl?

I also am Scottish and a good names I would pick for a Scottish Girl: Greer, Mackenzie and Jaime. These names are definetly Scottish but Keeley would also be nice. I am not very keen on the name Larson and I am guessing he named it after Henrick Larrson, The former celtic player but if choosing a Scottish name I would choose Gavin, Mitchell or Elliot. I can promise all names I have said are Scottish as they were looked up on a Scottish name site. It is completely up to you two to pick your baby names though so dont feel you are limited to whatever names.

Keely is a good scottish name as it sounds scottish. But I'm fond of the boy's name Zachary.

I always preferred Jessica or Vanessa for a girl.

I like it. It's original I mean you don't get many Keely's about do you. See my name is Rebecca I like my name but too many other people have it. It gets annoying becuase every 4th person I meet has the same name as me. So I think it's a good choice.

Re a boy - Larson sounds great.

As long as you do not change it to a seriously crap name like "Tyler" .

Your son or daughter will be fine whichever names you decide to choose though try not be tempted by the T name.

I think you should never trust the man to pick. Just let him think he is picking lol Remeber a name is the most important thing you will ever do for your child. It can be the making or breaking of them. Do they stand out from the croud ect. Good luck with this so important task

I found when it came to naming mine we would decide on a name and then within 3 days decide the name didnt suit and changed it. When your child is born inspiration will come to you and you will find a name you will be happy to shout up the road to bring them home.
