i see a lot of people over here, bashing each of our religions, and most of them on baseless lies..i feel that, a lot of this could be reduced if we would just forget our differences and unite for a cause(i'm not saying that we all have to follow the same religious practices, or anything).don't you think we're being a bit immature and childish by fighting like this? so, what say you?

the ability to listen and accept others who are different in their thoughts than yours needs you to be open ,free , mature enough and having basic knowledge in religions and thoughts.
discussing many people with their thoughts and religions that they respect, makes them angry especially when someone differs with them; especially in their basics.
so i think that every one who wants to discuss others with their thoughts overhear should be convincing and able to answer others respectfully ,and he must bear in mind that he can not force anyone to follow his way.
so my advise to everyone:read, think,be wise ,be thoughtful and rational and do not hasten to judge any statement without careful thought based on good knowledge.

The world spins on two axis, one of need and one of greed. Religion is but a minute segment in between.

The greedy never have enough and therefore must and always will take from the needy. They have no concious, no religion and no compassion while yet pretending they do. They are the primal beasts seeking to satisfy their endless greed to be the most wealthy, the most powerful and the most controlling creatures ever to walk the face of this planet. As like their primal forebeings, they will even fight amongst themselves to control what they now have and plan to control when their fight has ended and one will fall.

The needy, on the other hand, are humble to their existance and compassioante to those around them. They find wealth in friendship and through lovng one another. They find that unity has strength and promotes growth and happiness with acts of helping each other and not having a price to pay with fear. They maintain common beliefs that provide the strength to ward off persecution thru unity within their community. While being so, the needy remain humble to their cause and compassionate to those that would be part of their cause.

This was the beginning of religion along the Mediterranean coast.so many centuries ago. It was a religion designed to hold people together with a common good...!

Unfortunately, the greedy found an edge and perpentrated religon for self gain and provoked communites to censorship to the beliefs of the powerful greedy. Religion became a tool of self-gain and power as well as conflict for the greedy which caused various forms of religion to be born throughtout the world. Many of these such religions were then, and are now, violent forms of religion alligned to rules established by the most greedy and powerful.

Yet, to this very day, the needy survive in their humble ways and do so because they have a common belief of compassion for those around them. They use a book as a guideline despite its errors and omissions. They call their book a bible and call their beliefs a religion.

Without it, where would I be...? I am forever grateful our Creator gave me something to cling to...the needy...!

To start wih you could argue this point all day and it would never end.
To me it's funny that people are branded different because of the religion they choose to follow. Some people could argue the fact that Jesus was Jewish but began the Christian following - why fight if they're stemmed from the same person.

A person should be allowed to follow their heart and if this is by holding someone or somehing in Holy Regard, then who's to say they are right or wrong. Every race and every culture has a different aspect on their religion, by pressing their views on other people it can and has been proven to create hatred and dissent and sometimes lead to war.

How can one religion call themselves Holier then others. King Richard and the Crusades was a ploy to cover the real reason - Turn to our religion or be condemmed and die. How can the Catholics, Church of Christ, Lutheran, Baptist, Christian, Jew (the list is endless) be all right and yet all wrong. The basic principle is the same why don't embrace and encourage other's views.

It also doesn't help when a religious leader, appointed to maintain the rights of his flock, preach to them and uphold their faith - makes debasing comments about the countrymen he lives alongside and the country in which he calls home.

It is hard to determine one lie from another, one truth from "the Truth".

To me it is childish and stupid to fight over a religion, over who is god and who is not. It is even more stupid to push your religion on someone else and then create a war when they cry out against it. I was bought up into a Christian family

If only the world was a beautiful place.

I was thinking that last night!
There are so many websites that have Christianity vs. Islam and scholars trying to bring down the other religion.

Why can't we face the fact that we have different beliefs and leave it at that?
Why can't we ask questions in a reasonable manner rather than bashing each other?

I agree that organized religion is pretty much useless. But God is not about a religion. He is all about relationships which is what you seem to be referring to. Don't base what you believe about God on human religious practices. That does not give you a good idea of what God is like. Read the book of John in the Bible and find out what He is really like.

Both Chrixtians and Moslems push coversion on people. The
Jewish faith does not. I say leave people alone and let them
believe what they want. It's ridiculously agravating when people
are constantly trying to convert you to their religion. Frankly, I'm
disgusted by it. I'm Jewish and whatever you are is fine with me.
In fact Judaism discourages people from becoming Jewish.
You're fine just the way you are if you are a decent person. No
heaven no hell.

I say tell the truth about them all, they all lie. Every single religious book is full of lies and half true stories, made up to make the leaders of the time look good. There is no god, Its just a method to control the masses and keep them content with the scraps left over by the leaders. GEE, take the crap in this life, and you'll have a reward in the next. Yes, a real reward, the chance to do it all over again if you are reincarnated or a good sleep through nothingness if you aren't. Jesus didn'tcall you sheep for nothing

I totally agree with your. The problem is that all 'religions' are man-made and follow their own sets of rules to the exclusion of anyone else's beliefs. Some of them are totally intolerable and open to mis-interpretation such as Islam. One of my concerns is that these religions tell their followers to spread the ideals to non-believers and try to convert them. It's a pity that they don't live and let live and accept that not everyone follows their particular brand of religion. That way we'd get on much better. Sadly some countries have adopted their religion as a form of governance to the exclusion of all others and non-participants are punished severely. Other countries, such as Albania, ban all forms of religious worship even though they still have churches there, presumably to attract tourists. Religion has caused more conflict and deaths over the ages than any other reason. Pity everyone's not like us atheists.
