Middlesex ceased to exist as a county with its own council in the local government reorganisation of 1964 when Greater London was created.

It is still a postal address for some towns in the north, northwest and west of London, such as Edgware, Uxbridge and Chiswick.

Middlesex England

It was on the West of London but there is no longer a County of Middlesex and it ceased to exist, as such, at the end of the 1950's. There remain historical connections like "Middlesex Cricket Club" and people still claim they live in Middlesex as it carries a more rural feel.

Middlesex no longer exists because it is now part of greater London but when it did it was west and north of London. In the west it started at Uxbridge and more of less followed the river Thames in the south as far as Chiswick. As far as the north is concerned I am not sure but Harrow was certainly in Middlesex
I hope that helps

Where exactly are you going to? Middlesex is a county/area of London not a town or city

If you are driving from North Wales and lets say you head to Birmingham and then get the M40 from there towards London. The M40 ends near Denham and becomes the A40, well if you came off at the very next junction (Swakeleys Roundabout), you can turn right to Uxbridge and left to Ickenham - at this point you are in Middlesex!!

I live in Middlesex and as far as we're concerned its still here!!! :-)

Funnily enough Middlesex does no longer exists through the re-structering of counties way back. (still a sore point with some). The odd thing is they've still got a cricket team in the "Counties" league !
