I condemn terrorism and so do most muslims. We speak out all the time, but we're ignore because there are wars going on right now. As history has already shown, after the wars, the true stories come out. You will see, after the war is over (if ever) you will see so much footage of us speaking out and be shocked at the dates as they were never aired. This muslimah speaks out against it, and I invite anyone else to join me.

yeah, for everybody who say's that muslims are terrorist, we muslims here say we are against such behavior. And we're not just speeking, all of us in our countries are fighting it as well. And actually it's very obvious that these terrorists are pretty insane, they just bombed algeria and morroco, which are muslim countries. duh!!!

I am not Muslim, but I appreciate that you, as a Muslim, are condemning terrorism. The problem that many of us have, though, is that your book explicitly says that you are allowed to (and should) kill non-Muslims. So, when SOME very small percentage of Muslims then act on that and do just that, the rest of us lose patience with your whole group, because after all your book and other teachings also say that it is OK to pretend to be a non-Muslim's friend in order to win against him later. So it's pretty hard to trust Muslims based on what their own book says. Again, no offense, and I do applaud you for trying, but I think you should take a close look at your own religion and what it teaches. Note, I agree that the Bible also has some nasty stuff, but not to that extent. I don't believe in it, either, since I am an atheist, but I'm just saying I realize it's not just the Koran that's full of bad stuff.

I commend your stance taken through Y!A and I would join vociferously to condemn these terrorists who happens to be Muslim and degrading the teaching of Islam on continuous basis since the WW-II ended and two major flash-points were created. One was the Israel issue and another was Kashmir issue.

Our Muslim religious and political leaders failed to contain people who were hijacking airplanes and then taking innocent people hostages and now killing them with video made for propaganda purpose. Had the Muslim leadership starting from early 1950s could have foreseen the result of their muted protest while sitting on the isle and not strongly condemning such violence done against innocent civilians then today Muslims would not be despised to the level it is done.

We know that injustices were done against Muslims in these two places but what we found that by taking militant path and harming the civilians, the cause of freedom loving people were delayed and the focus of world community shifted from the real aggressors to the 'terrorist' activities carried on by the representatives of the 'oppressors'.

It is still not too late for the grand Muftis and such leading scholars to call international conferences and discuss how best we can get our Muslim youths back to the track of Islamic teachings, which is basically devoid of any sort of terrorism against civilians. Otherwise, we would be despised by people from all the religion, particularly by the people who were harboring animosity against Islam.

Thanks for raising this question of self evaluation here.

Yesterday, ana "Arab Muslim terrorist" blowed himself in the parliament of Baghdad.. He decided to do this operation as soon as the Congress was about to stop the financing of Iraqi war and let Bush out or spend on the war outta his pocket.. This "terrorist" bombed himself up and left a letter saying: "For a better future to my family".. His brother revealed that he Left 5 Million "USD" behind. Who's the terrorist here? The one who paid to a poor miserable man or the miserable man himself?

for some people, unless EVERY muslim on the planet publicly comes out to condemn terrorism, it won't be enough...however, i don't see similar calls for renunciation based on the terrorist acts of tim mcveigh, eric rudolph, the IRA, etc...
