The universe "hears" but not the details as you might so desperately want it to .
It hears your emotional conclusion(s) to a matter .
If you believe that you deserve X it starts to move in that direction .
One man kills a cow to him it is wrong - He concludes he is bad and feels as such .........The universe hears that he is bad the man told it so
Another man kills a cow and thinks nothing of it - The universe hears nothing
Now this is a problem at some levels for many of us because I believe that you have done somthing wrong in killing the cow.
Ever wonder why it is that when I or the state punishes you that it wants you to accept thier version of morality ?
I think what you did was wrong and I want you to tell the universe that you are bad - What you tell the uuniverse will effect your after life
I'd like you to accept my version and tell the universe my story
If you don't however your created morality was not transgrssed etc
Now on the wish list thing it hears the same way Your emotional conclusion to the matter No details
It does not care for the who's and what's and where's
You say your good/bad and should be rewarded/punished it will agree with you and move in that direction for you
The above is just my belief
So when you create a god and an afterlife and a set of "morals" be careful in what you create You will have to love with it for a long time

We do not make our own reality.
If that were true, if I believed that I could fly, I could jump off a building and not get hurt. But no matter how hard I believe I can fly, when I jump off that building, I will drop like a rock.
If you don't believe me, try to will something to happen with your mind... you won't be able to - if reality was all that maleable by our thoughts, we would be able to change it by our thoughts, but we can't.
There is one who hears, and that is the Creator who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He does not change and neither do the physical and moral laws of his universe.
We do not get to make up the rules, he does. And he loves us.

Yes, the universe hears alright..God is up there in it..so are all the angels and perhaps other worlds. This is my belief.

You have to be true to your feelings. Perhaps you lose power by doing so, but to just pick the powerful interpretation without sensitivity to who you are and how your really feel is to lose who you are and your soul.
