Do your research in to the Sumerian culture and this will put the bible stories to rest. The bible is just foot notes of many other ideologies and mythology. If you want to know facts and truth get your head out of the bible.
The bible was written by primitive men that did not have the knowledge to fully comprehend the information they used to create the bible.

When God put Adam and Eve in the garden He gave them authority and dominion over everything in the earth including the devil. When God anoints someone the anointing is good and will help you achieve whatever is needed, including obedience. So what I am saying is God already gave them everything they needed to stay obedient with out a problem. However, they did not exercise their authority when the devil came into the picture. They let him hang around and introduce ideas into their head, when they should have just ran him off when he showed up. By not dealing with him swiftly aloud time for doubt to set in and cause their downfall.

DisOrder, free will is a concept that has to do with looking to God for salvation, not day-to-day decisions that we make. Therefore free will was not an issue for Adam and Eve before the fall. They had the full capability to obey God, and they did not. The fall plunged all of mankind into a state of disunity with God, "free will" not being a gift at all but rather continued day-to-day decisions without God in the picture. Free will is nothing to be desired. Freedom in Christ is.

DIS: Adam and Eve were pro-to types of what we all have with in us - human nature. Satan tested their obedience to God - not God. A better question for you would be: If God allows free-will, why did He place Satan here, on the earth ?
Although I can answer it, it will take lots of time up to do so. So - I won't right now.

The God energy is a pure energy. Liken it to light without dark.
If you imagine that we are all parts of the energy then how would we know remorse or forgiveness even anger or hate if we didn't break away for a short time to experience the things that don't exist within the energy. So free will, given to us while in this earthly form so that we may experience these things.

If Adam and Eve were tricked by a talking snake, I can't be sure they were entirely too bright. :S Unfortunately, Lucifer knows how to make a good arguement in cases where God usually tends to put His foot down. God simply said not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge and left it at that with little explanation, while Satan gave quite a few good points in FAVOR of eating from it.

I have asked the question of how does one get "free-will" out of the fact that God told A&E NOT to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. So far I guess that detail has escaped the "attention" of most, if not all, responders.

He didn't test their obedience, the devil did. He put them into a situation where their loyalty to God was questioned. They made a wrong choice and we still suffer for it today

Precisely. That's what free will is all about. It is a choice between good and evil. A movement towards God or away from God. He wants us to love him, but he also wants us to love him because we want to .
