No, the Mayan calendar marks the end of a cycle on December 21st, 2012. I shall on that day turn 54 years old. That is not the end of the world -- not mine, not yours -- and I expect we shall see a good many changes in our future even as we have in the past. Y2K was a bust as disasters go, and I expect that we will see some Mayan art, a flurry of nutcases, and then the majority of us will get back to our business.

I truly believe that end-of-the-world scenarios only serve to distract us from the problems -- such as global weather change, population increase and human rights -- that do face us as individuals and as a species. If there is an end date to cling to, then we can endure even unto death, rather than make necessary changes that can solve our problems. For example, if we accept there is no Savior or Mother Ship that's going to pull our species out of the environmental mess we've made here in our short-sighted greed, then we can start working together to clean things up; otherwise we will sit here hoping for a bang until we die with a whimper.

Peace

Sure feels like it to be very honest.

There is a lot of evidence showing we are in the end times.

I come from an observational rather than religious point of view.

Koyaanisqatsi is an excellent movie from the 80's or early 90's. The word is Hopi for Life out of Balance. I think you might enjoy it. The sound track is very good and it is pure photographic genius.

We live in a world that is afraid of life. It is not strange that you ask such questions. If you want to have a chance at a future, educate yourself on some of the problems and see what you can do to tackle even one to made a difference.

There will be at least one nuclear war to come, probably a second in. So the end time as we know it is in sight because things will change forever then. Our DNA will be changed, the DNA of the planet will be altered. The NWO is doing its best to kill billions off the planet through genocide, disease and war do well for that.

The end times may not come as people expect, but just bit by bit.

Yes we are living in the last days as the Bible says. I wonder who will be prepared. The Armageddon is near.

Things will get much worse, but sometimes I can just feel the end stirring, Jesus said he would return soon, that was about 2007 years ago so who knows when it will end and how bad it will get, I think America will be the next Rome by that point in time. It is getting close...

Study your bible.
We are living in the last days, and have been for the last 2000 years!
The "last days" were formally announced, according to the bible, by Peter at pentecost. (Acts 2)

"Wars, rumours of wars, famines, earthquakes."

Nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes)

Hard to say... to some extent crazy things have always been happening.

In my judgment some signs and biblical prophecy are definitely coming into fruition, but how long these signs are to last before the end comes... only God knows.

And interestingly enough, people have believed this very same thing for thousands of years.

As for me, the end is pretty near. I get off work in three and a half hours.

I saw on TV once, where a potato chip was carrying a sign around saying "the end is near" and just then a bag of potato crisps fell on it and smashed it. So you may have something there!

Not necessarily "our" last days, but the last days of the world and its wickedness. Corruption and wickedness have reached their climax! And according to the Bible, this is an indication of its end. Good question...
