Insane, i saw this question a couple of days ago and i remember seeing the guy too back then, and i wrecked my brain trying to think of his name and i just couldn't. So finally i asked my Uncle, and he said it was Frank "The Vampire" Johnson. My Uncle even showed me an old fight that the vampire had against John "The Beast" Mugabi. So Bru above almost got it. Props to Bru for getting close. because i never would have guessed it without my Uncle's help.

I almost pissed myself before my first amateur fight. I was so jacked up in the weeks prior to the fight but I woke up the morning of the event and realized I was about to be locked in a cage with another human and the door wasn't going to be opened until someone was sleeping, someone gave up, or 9 long minutes passed (three 3 minute rounds for mine). Everyone kept saying the worst possible things to me. "try not to get hurt" was the worst...thank you mom for reminding me that someone is trying to hurt me "kick some ***" was cliched The list went on with things that made me feel worse. Everything was getting progressively more terrifying until one of my training partners approached me and calmly said "you got this". That was the only thing anyone said that was comforting. If I were you, I wouldn't say anything. Most people don't want to talk to anyone before a fight. There is a reason professional fighters don't see their families in the days or hours before the fight. Its time to violently take care of business and friends and family can be distracting. January 24th is a long way off....

Yeah I remember that guy he was Wilbert "Vampire" Johnson a middleweight who wanted to compete and take on all comers like in the old days. Fighting regularly in over the weight contests at any division light heavy and heavyweight. I thought it was crazy until now when you see guys like Roy Jones and James Toney do it, except they pulled it off.
