It is true that gravity exists, earth is round, earth revolves round the sun but all these was made by God, Life was started by God.
Science uncovers the work of God.

There are Christian theories of evolution. Even the non-Christians in the science field disagree on evolutionary theories. The key word there is theories. If you are talking about the acceptance of one of the many evolutionary theories as fact, first, it has to be proven as fact and not just a theory. There are some things that can be called evolutionary fact like our ability to adapt to different situations. It's more of a personal evolution, but evolution none the less. There will always be nuts who deny that the sun is hot, but for the most part, Christians have been a major part in many scientific discoveries. Darwin himself was a Christian. Galileo, Newton, Punnett, Pasteur, to name a few. Modern science has helped us understand the Bible more, for example, they showed a program on the History channel not too long ago giving a scientific explanation for the plagues in Egypt. Science doesn't threaten God. After all, If God created everything, he created science too.

The Bible always claimed that the earth was round. There was a time in church history when they ignored the scriptures and followed the popular teachings of Greek philosophers. This was a mistake. They should have ignored popular opinion and trusted their own scriptures. The context of the verses stating that the earth shall not be moved is clearly metaphorical for "established". It was always wrong for the church to make such scientific assumptions about the meaning of these verses. There is nothing in the context of the Genesis account indicating metaphor or allegory. Furthermore, there is no scientific proof of evolution and therefore no scientific reason to doubt the Genesis account. There is also no evidence that 'exclusively' supports evolution.

Science is not complete and have not learned all there is to learn. Science is religion's kryptonite. You can believe in the bible and fully except science because you will ultimately have to concede that bible is just a small foot note in time as well bits and pieces of other religions and the Sumerian culture.
Christians and the rest of us will have to one day accept the truth about our own evolution. The information is readily available to all men if you dare take a look. The world is not what the bible say it is. Science is still playing catch up to other data we have in our historic records. The world is not ready to accept full truth and there are many that would kill to keep the masses very ignorant and stupid.
Things are changing very rapidly in our knowledge of the world and religions are the most wrong about this planet's evolution and development.
Never forget real life is stranger than fiction.

YES....I am a christian and I believe in evolution.
In reading the bible we should take into account the time and generation this was made. During the old testament, people needed something to explain their existence and even explain their purpose. They did not have the technology that we have and enjoy today. So all explanations were made through stories and parables. Some maybe true while some may be fictional. But the FACT remains that these has made a difference, improved the lives and the improve the morals of people.
Science and religion should be seen as a conflict. It should be dealt with a deeper understanding especially for its purpose and its effect to the society.

If you think science knows all the answers.....explain then why all museums and text books are being changed right now, over dinosaurs.
Did you miss the big news story a few days ago? Science ADMITTED they had dinos wrong, staged wrong, standing wrong, and even wrong bones and WRONG HEADS on wrong bodies. If they can't even put the bones together proper, you expect them to know everything else?
Do some research past a high school education and you might learn something in this world.
You won't listen to people who do these studies for life....yet you FULLY believe some teacher who makes 31k a year. who stands in a classroom.
That's comical.

I have.
Please do not include me in the group that doesn't.
Thank you.
"Will there be a time when they all accept evolution?" -- No, some people march to their own drummer no matter reality. which is fine by me also. Humans will always be individuals first, for a long long time.

Not all scientists accept evolution as a fact. It might interest you to know that evolution has been a theory for over a hundred years! A lot of people go by the ASSUMPTION that evolution is a fact but, the fact is, the facts are lacking -- if you want to honest about it.
Remember, evolution is a THEORY. And after over a hundred years it still is.

I will accept what the Lord tells me is true. When I get there and he says the first creatures He made have evolved and changed as time passed, I'll believe it. Until then I'm going to stick with what He says. Does He say they didn't after He made them? Not that i've seen. They very well could have, but I'm not going to go stick words in His mouth, it's just not a very smart thing to do.

Let us suppose that millions of years ago a cell was formed which had acquired everything necessary for life, and that it duly "came to life". The theory of evolution again collapses at this point. For even if this cell had existed for a while, it would eventually have died and after its death, nothing would have remained, and everything would have reverted to where it had started. This is because this first living cell, lacking any genetic information, would not have been able to reproduce and start a new generation. Life would have ended with its death.
