I completely know where you are coming from..my b/f and I run into this problem on a daily basis..lol It doesnt help that we are both pretty shy...but what I would suggest is ask about the other person's day..and don't just act interested..really listen to what the other person is saying and engage back in the conversation..ask questions to keep the convo. going. Also, talk about things you each have a common interest in..or if that seems to be getting you nowhere (b/c I know girls and guys can have many opposite interests..heh)...ask questions about each others hobbies...and possibly offer to teach your girlfriend about one or more of your hobbies..for example, my b/f enjoys playing the guitar and its something he likes talking about..and recently he began teaching me how to play the guitar..giving us one more thing to have a convo. about. And depending on how long you two have been together, how close you are to your g/f, or how "deep" you want the conversation to be...you guys can talk about your future plans (not necessaruly together)..but what you want to accomplish in your life, your goals, school, work etc... sorry for the long-winded answer..but hope I gave you some ideas...good luck!! ;o)

How in the world can you run out of things to say with everything that is going on in this world. My husband and I have been married for 28 years and we never ever run out of things to talk about.Talk about sex talk about life&death about
how bad it's going to be 10 years from now. Ask her if she thinks we come from martians. You do no when the one people you love or care about can't think of anything to talk about any more it's time to say good-by.

Usually if its the right chemistry there is always something to talk about. I used to have this problem with every guy I've dated until I met my fiancee. I thought it would always be a problem. Maybe its the combination of people. Like someone who talks a lot and someone who doesn't talk to much. Thats a good pair. Maybe you two need to find out what you have in common.

Read some news stories on rr.com or yahoo.com. Memorize some details from a few that may interest her. Begin by saying, "Oh, I read about.." or "Did you hear about..." or "Did you know that..." Give your response to the story first or ask her what she thinks about it. Don't tell more than one at a time though. She will probably think of one to share with you.
