I've heard of the mosquito discipline ;where one watches the mosquito suck blood without reacting but what about a deadly snake ?

The mosquito thing is a form of meditation. They use it in zen a lot. But a Buddhist would probably try to neutralize the threat the snake poses using the least possible amount of force. Preferably not killing it.

the snake will only attack you if you threaten it.

it's venom is importent to it. it needs it to kill it's prey. to waste it on defense is the snake's last resort.

so in short there is no life or death situation with a deadly snake.

either you startle it and it bites you..and you die.

or you see it and can easily walk away.

(not a Buddahist, just a Pagan. )

No because the big Buddha on high wouldn't like it, I would let my brother snake bite my arm then I would cut off my arm to save myself.

Of course. it's instinct, doesn't matter if a person is buddhist or not......but I won't hit the snake for second time

I believe budda says " life without death is meaningless."So I guess it depends on you interpretation of it. If you think you should die, then you don't fight. If you think you should live then you try and survive.
