uh, your vet should have already given you pain meds. Rimadyl is the most popular med. She should take it for at least 3 days, although many vets will prescribe it for 1 week.
It is unacceptable for your vet to not provide pain medicine. I highly suggest taht you find a new vet soon.

Although, most vets will give the dog something to take the edge off of the pain on the first day it is usually recommended that you do not give excessive pain meds following some surgeries. The reason is that we cannot explain to our pets why they aren't allowed to run and jump for several days following a procedure. The mild discomfort they feel following the surgery is to keep them from becoming too active and damaging the suture lines.
Check with your vet but I'm sure that he will tell you something similar.

If your dog was released by the vet she is good to go! Make sure she has a comfy place to sleep and let her tell you when she's ready to resume normal routines. Leave her alone and let her heal. Make sure she's on the floor and not trying to get on a high bed to sleep because she'll strain herself. Make sure there is food and water nearby but dont expect her to start eating as usual for a few days. Make sure you give her a chance to go outside and do her business and then bring her straight back to her comfy sleeping spot and leave her alone.
Go about your business and dont be concerned with your dog, she's got more common sense that all of us put together.
The only reason to be concerned would be if she has a significant discharge from the surgery area. If she tries to lick it too much then very gently get her to stop. Too much licking of the surgery site is not good. If she is not moving around in 2-3 days or cries at all call the vet. Medicating your dog could allow her to hurt herself because she feels better quickly.
She knows what to do........she needs her rest.

I think it depends on your vet and how old your dog is? Our vet gave our one dog Metacam...but she was older when she got spayed as we got her from the pound when she was three years old. Most young puppies heal up pretty fast. I do believe that all dogs can take "coated aspirin" but NEVER Tylenol or Advil-type drugs..they can ruin their liver. I would ask your vet to be sure..but if your dog is a pup, she will heal fast. Ask the vet about the aspirin. We have given our dogs one 81 mg aspirin when in pain..but I would ask before you give more than that and at what intervals. Hope this helps.

Animals can , in some instances, take the same pain meds as humans, only in much smaller doses. If your dog has just been spayed your vet should have told you what kind of pain meds to give him/her. Call the vet that spayed your dog and ask.

I'm assuming that you took her to a vet to be spayed so If she needs pain meds, your vet should have told you what to use and the proper way to care for her after the procedure. I don't think it is a good idea to give your dog anything without talking to your vet first.

My dog was just spayed & she didn't need anything. When I had my other dogs spayed, they didn't need anything then either. They just sleep alot the 1st couple days. If she is in pain, there may be something wrong so you should contact your vet right away.

Most vets believe that you shouldn't give your dog pain meds following spaying or neutering. They do this so that your dog does not run and jump around after.

The vet should have offered to send some medication home with her.
Dogs can't have the majority of human medications. Depending on her size and weight, she MIGHT be able to take an adult low-dose aspirin. Call a 24 hour emergency vet to ask before you giver her anything, though!

If you vet has not provided any further medications post operatively....and they are unavailable...and you have concerns as to the pain that your pet is experiencing....Call an Emergency centre!! DO NOT administer any medication to your pet without consulting a Veterinarian...as when your pet ends up dead...you've only yourself to blame!!
