you body takes 20 minutes to get the message "im full" from your stomach to your brain, by eating too fast we supress this mechanism and end up eating too much. try and make a conscious effort to eat slower, or eat small meals at regular intervals throughout the day (usually no more than 3-4 hours between meals). this is a great way to drop the pounds. Also, dont skip meals! this throws you body out of wack and you actually retain the fat and calories you are trying to get rid of by skipping a meal.

I guess this could be true. It takes your body at least 20 minutes to realize its full. So if you eat fast for 20 minutes, before you realize you are full, you are going to consume a lot more calories and food than you would if you eat slower.

The reason they say that is because if you eat fast you tend to eat more than you need as your brain doesn't have time to realize that you are full so you keep eating and end up overeating. If you eat slower you brain has more time to process the fact that you are full.

It takes awhile before your brain realizes you are full. If you eat slower, you will eat less because it gives your brain time to kick in and tell you to stop.
