Conscience : Latin - Con = with........Science = knowledge
Your conscience speaks only to moral issues and it is a gift from God, so that you have a moral compass within you. When you do wrong, for example stealing, your conscience alerts you to something that is not right so that if you follow through and continue, you do it "with knowledge".
However, you can sear your conscience if you continually do wrong and ignore it's prompting.

I have more than one...it really depends on the situation. God, of course, is always in the back(or front) of my mind being my conscience, however other than God I have a few. Sometimes, I hear my Boyfriend in my head, being my conscience...sometimes, my Grandma...Other times I have heard my aunts and uncles, friends sometimes...even my father on occasion who, by the way, has been deceased for almost 13 years...I'm grateful for all of them for without them, I would have no conscience at all.

Its a natural rewiring of the brain that occurs when a person is taught to have a conscience by their parents. Its easy for a person not to get one if they are not taught to have one at the critical age when mental attitudes are developing. These are dangerous people, often psychopaths. Our prisons are full of them.

Do you mean my superego? It is composed of things that my parents taught me, society taught me, and at some deep level that the Spirit of God has instilled within me. I filter it through my reason to produce an action in the material world.

God's given tool to distinguish from what is morally right to what is morally wrong. It speaks to me and not the other way around. Isnt it interesting how it only speaks on moral issues?
