I have an Epson, Dell, and a HP.
HP seems to have the best support which is as important as the price.

I use brand name ink only until the printer is out of warranty, then I go generic.

There are many websites selling compatible ink. I've been sticking with www.carrotink.com. Their prices are pretty good and they run regular specials for a free cartridge and free shipping with a $40 order.

You contact the Hp.com or the Cannon .com for the latest in the printing technology in the printers you can choose the printer which ever you want according to you budget configuration.
