What kind of pattern are you wanting to stitch. Are you referring to edging your veil? See if this helps

My mom's sewing machine broke so I've been hand sewing for a while. It sucks, it takes forever! Anyway, have you sewn before? If not, start off by using patterns and not doing your own yet. Chances are you'll make a lot of mistakes and stuff. It's tough. If you have lots of skirts then get a skirt pattern from a store or online and make that. If it works, do your own. As for hand sewing, make sure you make small stitches. It can take FOREVER! I'm working on this dress right now but it has the "smocking effect" and that will take a lot of sewing, so I'm waiting until next week when my mom's sewing machine is fixed! lol :P But I would suggest saving up some money and purchasing a sewing machine. They come in handy!

You will have to wet the Solvy to get rid of it, and that will probably make the tulle limp. I would forget making a pattern on the tulle. Go to a fabric store that sells bridal fabric and tulle, and see if they can help you with suggestions. Or go to a sewing machine store. You need someone with sewing experience. Also the tulle you find in craft stores usually isn't the best quality for a veil. You need to go to a good fabric store! Good luck!

I hate tulle, for that reason. I'd do it by hand...or maybe try using a sheer organza...THAT might work, simply because it's a much finer weave than tulle. I've never tried to sew a veil before, so I'd be in over my head too.
And you do know, most of the people at your generic crafts store really don't know much about sewing, right??? I'd ask at either a sewing machine store, or a specialty fabric shop...THOSE are the folks who know sewing and machines.
Good luck!

I really think you are in over your head with sewing with Tulle. I have experience sewing for 25 years and I really feel that doing the tulle for your headpiece is difficult. Why don't you buy tulle with a delicate pattern on it already, or sew some delicate sequins on the tulle. The edge should hand rolled and sewn by hand. Good Luck but I think you need professional help with this.

Hand stitching is good. Or a good sturdy material to sandwich the tulle between...a cotton material perhaps (if possible). Also making sure your stitching is not set too small, a wider loose stitch would work best even if you had to stitch it twice to make sure it was secure. If you find you can't do it yourself.....go to a FABRIC store. Most of the people that work there are experienced with sewing and may do it for you for a small fee or refer you to someone who could.

tulle is very very delicate and is not good at all with a machine. see if you can get a soft but tougher material to do the design on then hand stitch it onto the tulle. hopefully that will work with the design. if not - is it something that you can hand-stitch? if neither of those work try talking with the people at the shop again - see if they know what to do. Good luck with this! i hope it works out :-)
