For you guys that don't know what a jackjumper is it's an Ant native to Tasmania (Aus), and it hurts like hell, one of the most painful bites in the world. Thanks for your suggestions.

Never heard of a "jackjumper" like just about everyone else.

Try ice....this can relieve most stings...apply ice directly to the sting until it quits burning when the ice is removed...maybe in 20 to 30.

If the bite is serious enough or poisonous I suggest going to an emergency room at hospital.

I don't know for sure about that particular insect. Sometimes ant bites and bee stings have similar stinging venom. You could try a bee-sting medicine. If you don't have any, you can make a paste with water and baking soda. I use that for bee stings.
I'm sorry that I don't know more and I want you to stop hurting. The baking soda solution is at least worth trying.
Also take an anti-inflammatory, such as Ibuprofen, to ease the swelling of the sting.

Weeeell, to stop a sting, run cold water over the sting if you can, or put ice on it. You can also either use Benadryl cream or take a Benadryl tablet, that helps nicely. I don't know the trade name for diphenhydramine in Australia (assuming that's where you are because of the ant,) but anything with that is good.

I remember once when I stepped on a bee, I crushed a Benadryl chewable and made a paste out of it with a bit of water, then applied it to the sting. Worked wonderfully. As for ants, that's another story, but any sting causes histamine to be released. Your best bet is an antihistamine in that case....

I also don't know what a jackjumper is but two things that work for me(if you don't have the other things suggested) for insect stings is fresh cut raw onion rubbed over it or put a copper coin on it for 15 minutes. Good luck.

I do not know what a jackjumper is

however, I have heard if you get stung by a bee you can put meat tenderizer on it or a wet tea bag.

Good luck and I hope it stops soon!!!

What is a jack jumper?

Your choices are vinegar or ammonia to stop the sting, but I need to know if the venom is acidic (ammonia) or alkaline (vinegar)
