find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

I have my own theories on diets....I personaly find that the body gets used to a diet and the metabolism adjusts to compromise. I.e If you consume 2000 calories and drop to 1500, your loose weight initially but then your body realizes it doens't have to burn as much and the metabolism slows down (which is contrary to the result you want). The best way to loose weight in my opinion is by taking into account all of the following:

1. regular exercise (so that you speed up the metabolism, muscle burns more calories than fat)
2. nutrition modification (stick to veggies and veggie juices with very little fruit added infor flavor) - raw veggies are best. Minimize all breaks and non-essential fats. Avoid all refined sugar.
3. Fast one day each week either cold turkey or using the lemon/maple syrup/cayenne diet. This allows you to loose weight but doesn't give your body a change to slow down the metabolism as an extended diet would

Good luck,
D.

Eat things that are closest to being in their "natural" setting. ie- things that are fresh from the ground like apples, rather than a slice of apple pie. Or grilled chicken, rather than deep fried chicken.
