all people talks approximately how elementary to interchange they are yet that's not unavoidably actual. I enlisted in 1963 and carried my tags via 2 excursions in Viet Nam. I misplaced them in 1970 when I have been living house and out of the provider for some years. at that factor there became no thank you to interchange them so I merely did with out that memory. those days i chanced on a corporation which will make new ones yet they gained't truly replace the 1st ones I have been given. that is actual of those you chanced on. the unique ones will advise a lot to the guy who misplaced them. Take them to a recruiting workplace or a protection stress base or do besides the fact which you would be able to to get them back to the landlord or his relative. it extremely is a very good factor you're doing.

if you're a civilian, go to your nearest recruiting station and tell them you found a set of dog tags. Yet since dog tags ae replaceable whoever lost them probably had them replaced already to go along with a nice ***-chewing from his CO or Sergeants for losing them. Theres nothin on them that will compromise him (as in the case of identity theft...it takes a lot more than dog tags to get on a military installation. But take them to a recruiting station nonetheless...they might appreciate the gesture.

it's only like 2 bucks to have a new complete set but it's cool you found them and want to be a good samartian. It has the soldier's full name and ss# on it so a google would prolly work. Or take them to a military or veterans organization for them to have or get rid of for u.

Your best bet would be to find the local recruiter for that branch. They will have access to a military locator and would be able to find the owner.

Good question. The owner probably has new ones made by now, but if you want to be the good samaritan, google his or her name.

That is a very nice thing for you to want to do. IM me privately and I'll discuss some options with you. I wouldn't throw them away though, as their full name and social is on it, and as someone who has had their identity stolen, its not a very nice thing to deal with.
