there are healthy ways to lose weight--DO NOT BECOME ANOREXIC. It is unsettling that you would even consider it. Also, you said that you were a dancer and a gymnast, which means that you obviously have some muscle. My friend is a national champion in level 10 gymnastics and she has HUGE muscles and judging by just her weight, it is clinically overweight for someone her height. However, MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT.
As to losing weight, if you really really want to, just eat healthier and exercise at least thirty minutes a day, its as simple as that. You don't want to go on any crash diets because you will end up gaining the weight back that you lost and then some.
Be happy of your body! I'm sure there are many girls in school who envy your athleticism, so flaunt it girl! Having an eating disorder can ruin your entire life, and ultimately end it in some cases.Good Luck and use your head!

Sarah, some of us are just going to weigh more than we would like, or than fits our dreams. I was on my high school gymnastics team, and got there by using a very stupid way of dieting. I did not get medical help, and I didn't know what I was doing to my body. I was not anorexic, just foolish. I made myself very ill. I missed just under 3 months of classes that year because I caught everything going around. And I never really recovered. I am 55 now, and cannot lose weight, no matter what the doctors try. I hurt myself by trying to be my own doctor. DO NOT DO THIS!!! I cannot repeat this often enough: Get a doctor's recommendation, see a nutritionist, and don't let yourself fall into that abyss.
Also about gymnastics: the injuries that are possible can last a lifetime as well. Yes, I have those, too. Over 165 twisted ankles so far, and they keep happening.
If you can't become top-rated through healthy means -don't do it.

Well you could lose weight by exercizing and eating healthy! No need to have a eating disorder. Plus you are not fat. I am not the person that says someone is not fat just to make them happy. You really are not fat. But i can see if you want to lose some weight. Maybe do some running. Throw the junk food out. To be anerexic is really bad. You can shrink to like 50 pounds. :(

I'ts not bad to WANT to be an anorexic, because to you, that would mean that you would be the perfect weight. I do however KNOW that it would be detrimental to your health to do so. I work in a hospital and have seen first hand what it can do to someone. I once had a patient who was 45 years old (yes, it can happen to old people too!), and she was about 5'3" 75 lbs. This illness caused her to become blind, and partially deaf. She was so weak, that she couldn't fight us when we put a feeding tube down her nose. She got up one night to use the bathroom and broke her leg. Just from standing on it! It was very sad! Besides hurting herself, I'm sure that she also hurt those that loved her.I know that it was very hard for me to watch her go through this, I can only imagine what it did to her family.
In the past, I too have wanted to be anorexic, not because of the things I've just described, but because I was unhappy with my weight. I would never be able to do that to myself or family though.
I think that you should think about this, and maybe talk to someone close to you.
Another note: Guys don't like anorexic girls :)

You don't need to lose weight. I would suggest you go get counseling. I am a nurse and having an eating disorder can really mess your body up. chances are you wont be able to dance or do gymnastics anymore. I think about it sometimes but then i realize that it wouldn't be worth in the long run.

Perhaps you are simply self aware. This is relatively common, and I suppose that might be you have to check out your satisfactory to look the matters you favor in your self. Many ladies believe this fashion, correctly. Anorexics in general generally tend to speedy and/or prevent energy or anything of the kind. Unless you are going via stages in which you obsessively watch movies that propose Anorexia or bypass plenty of foods (Not announcing all anorexics do. Believe me, each and every case of the sickness is one of a kind.) or some thing else that's bad conduct, I advocate you search aid. You will have to ordinarily appear up the indicators and *intellectual* indicators of the consuming sickness, and spot if you'll relate. And attempt to hinder any bad consuming behavior like depriving your self if you'll. Instead, why now not check out exercise and becoming a member of a tuition game or anything? It's healthful, and endeavor releases endorphins if you want to aid you believe completely satisfied, full of life, and is without doubt a larger choice. Like I stated, if you are concerned you are setting up Anorexia, get aid earlier than it starts to manipulate you. I promise you that obtaining aid is tips on how to move.

It may not take a lifetime to fix, it may take your lifetime in general. as in it could kill you. humans need food for fuel, not only would you be starving your brain and your bones, it would make you feel like total poo. you would not be able to be a gymnast anymore, because not eating will zap any energy you have, doesnt matter how young you are.and in the meantime, as the eating disorder progresses, it will spiral out of control. you really need counseling, to attack this problem before you end up in a very bad situation.you sound young, you dont want to waste your life in a hospital, you should be enjoying it.this is a very common problem, there is help out there for you.

You know youll be surprised how many woman have considered an eating disorder. The pressure to be thin from the media, our peers, and the approval from society as a whole makes it tempting to so many of us. I can't say exactly for your situation what will help you to love yourself. Its something I myself, go back and forth on constantly. I think first you need to examine yourself very closely and write down your reasoning for wanting to be thin. Next, write down your reasoning for not wanting to be anorexic. Weigh the two out in your mind. Is it worth it to yourself to be anorexic?
What seems to have helped me from battling the temptation myself is finding a replacement. I dont look at beauty magazines anymore, Ive stopped watching the television with those type of girls, and Im avoiding anything that will make me feel tempted in the thought. If dancing/gymnastics is another one of the things driving you towards this temptation I would quit. If its not making you feel good about yourself and if its making you feel like you have to change yourself its not worth it, if its making you feel full of flaws. There are things that you can replace these feelings with.
The thing that helped me get through my darkest moments was writing. Right before I started writing I was about to be in some big pageants for my state. It was something that sounded wonderful to me. To feel recognized to have people call me beautiful. I started eating less and less as it approached until I realized what it was driving me to do. So, I gave it up. It was so difficult. But now that its been three years I have gained weight and found other things to do that truly make me happy. Im happy. I feel skinnier now that Ive gained twenty pounds then the time I was so thin. The truth is youll never feel like your at the right weight if you pursue this route. It will consume your whole life. It will become your only thoughts up until it is so engrained in you to be thin that you cant quit the habit. And the truth is youll never be satisfied with yourself. I can honestly say it isnt worth it. It isnt worth it to the life you have ahead of you. There are things out there that will make you happy, are fun, and make you feel beautiful.
It will be hard to get over these temptations. It will take time and perserverance but I promise you if you choose to be healthy to feed your body that needs food to survive one day youll be happy. I promise you that even though now you dont feel like youll be happy if your not a certain weight, that if you give up these thoughts with all your might that one day youll be satisfied with yourself.

Well, first off, I don't know why anyone would WANT to become anorexic. It is an absolutely terrible thing to do and it can kill you. If you want to die then go right ahead. But there are much better ways to loose weight and keep it off. Your a gymnist/dancer. You should be perfectly fine already. Just eat right and don't pig out on a daily basis.
