May, You are correct to want to lose some weight but you need to get some assistance in doing this in a healthy manner. Starving yourself will not work for long term weight loss and you are likely to regain more later. We all wish weight loss was easy, but it takes time and discipline. Can you see your pediatrician for some help with this. You probably are either eating too much at each serving or eating all the wrong things. You need to eat healthy balanced meals with more meals and less at each meal. Drink lots of water and try to take a 30 minute walk each day.
You can be beautiful at any size but 250 pounds is too much for you at age 13. Losing this weight will sometimes be very hard. Take a photograph before you start the diet and post it on your mirror. Take a photo every 3 or 4 weeks and see how you look better. This will motivate you!!!
Slim Fast shakes are good when you are starving, have no food ready and don't want to mess up your diet. Check and see if they are safe for a 13 year old. Can your parents help you with making some low calorie meals for you?
Good luck!!

2 things really - eat healthy and join a gym. Do cardio every day - treadmill, bike, whatever. A healthy amount of weight to lose per week is about 2 pounds. So wanting to lose 50 pounds in 3 months is not going to happen if you want to do it the right way. And make sure your diet is good. Otherwise you're essentially wasting your time.

I just lost 45 pounds since jan. 1st. Stop eating bread, pasta and things like that. Start eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drink TONS of water. Go on the no carb diet but make sure you don't eat tons of fat (that's dangerous). Stop drinking pop. Only drink water (it really makes a big difference). Try to limit your sugar intake. Eat lots of chicken and salmon. Cold cuts are good too (no carbs) just don't eat them on bread. Or, if you do, get a low carb bread and don't eat lots of it. No potatoes. Try to limit your starch intake. All this helps big time but the water is the most important part. I drink at least 6 bottles a day. It's hard to get used to so much water at the beginning but it gets easier over time. Just keep bottles of water in different places around the house. Also on this diet you don't need to exercise to lose the weight. You will lose weight faster if you do, but I didn't exercise at all and still lost about 15 pounds a month. I tried the low calorie and low fat diets....they didn't work for me at all. This is the first one that did.

Why only a few months if it is next year? Oh well... My suggestion is find some diet that you can keep up. Do not do anything too drastic because that can cause strain on your body. Avoid junk food and get exercise everyday. Do not starve yourself. Being skinny does not make life perfect. I can understand your wish, but remember that life is never perfect. Soda and candy should be avoided, but healthy food is necessary to live.

The healthiest way is through healthy eating and exercise,
Step One - Sit down and make a menu plan
Some good things to keep in mind are portion sizes, calorie intake (cut your daily intake by around 20%) and your recommended daily intake of each type of food.
http://diabetescontrolforlife.com/health...
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
When making your Menu Plan try and incorporate 6 small meals of Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner, Snack. Although this may seem like to much food if you make each portion smaller and eat about three hours apart it will stop your cravings making it easier to lose weight. Another good idea is to have a look at menu and food ideas for diabetics because everyone should really eat in a similiar way to this.
A sample plan can be scene here
http://www.webmd.com/solutions/sc/diabet...
Step Two - Make a plan for how much excersise you will like to do
When i was trying to lose weight my aim was to walk my dog at least once a day. I tried to do it twice a day but once a day was a must. I walked around 1-2kms at a moderate pace so that when i got home i was just starting to sweat. If your anything like me I hate going to the gym and being in pain so this was a great way for me.
What you need to remember is that any exercise is better than no exercise so walking to the milkbar, gardening, playing with your kids. Any of this does help.
Step Three - Do it
Even when it gets tough and you think its not worth it remember your goals and why you wanted to do it and keep at it for your physical and emotional health
Hope this helps and Good Luck but even if your skinny life isnt perfect. Try to improve your self esteem. Seeing as your 13 your parents will be more than willing to help with the menu plan as long as they know your losing weight in a healthy way

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

Watch your calorie intake. Eat more healthy foods and less chips, junk food, fried foods. More fruits, vegetables and don't eat over 1500 calories a day. Run or walk also.

Diabetes is usually treated through a combination of diet (low sugar), exercise and medications/insulin. Read here https://tr.im/kGslS
Milder cases can be controlled with just diet an/or exercise while more severe cases require meds or insulin as well.

cut out everything white ie white bread, white rice, etc.. eat whole grains,,, no more fried food and take out,,, lots of lean meats, fruit and veggies,,,,,, no more sitting in front of the tv or the computer,,,,, you need cardio but start out slow like walking until you build up your endurance,,, also please consult you GP before you start. and remember it won't happen all at once,, don't be discouraged if you aren't losing as much as you want right away... keep at it and stay strong you can do it!! good luck
