Do you think we will always use dogs in war? Will the dogs mission be the same?(bomb sniffing, protection ect? )Or will it change? Will high tech weapons and robots replace the dog working in a war? What is the future for dogs working in war?

I'm good friends with a K9 handler and his MWD (military working dog) Randy. I think there will be k9's used for many years to come. There are things the dogs can do that people and machines just can't duplicate. At least not at this point in time. Randy has more of an intimidation factor than a rifle or gun. What doesn't work for regular MP's and wouldn't surrender to a regular soldier will give into a dog. That dog isn't going to miss, they are 100% gonna hit you and hit you hard. That MP or soldier might miss you or that's the perception. You might can outrun the MP, you can't run or hide from the K9. There is no machine that can duplicate a well trained dectection dog either. Noting comes close to being as quick and reliable as the MWD's. I see them in the roles they are in now for as much as 20 to 50 years down the road or longer.
